We took Ellie to Kearsney Abbey, she loves it there as we let her run in and out of the stream. We had a coffee there too.

In the afternoon I finished wrapping ALL the Christmas presents.

Rhys was on the cab rank in the evening and had just given a lift to the owner of the tapas bar in Whitstable. He had 102 booked tonight and it had then reduced to 27, as he said “if they turn up.” How awful for the catering trade.

I went shopping, I really don’t enjoy it with everywhere so busy but managed a couple more “after dinner presents”.

Wrapped a few presents and posted the presents to Scarlet and Jack, in plenty of time just in case there are more delays.

Rhys went to Saga to get his booster. It happened to be the same day that bumbling Boris decided to visit!! Rhys didn’t see him.

We took Ellie for a walk and then I got ready for the Red Hatter’s Christmas lunch at Smugglers in Birchington.

We had a lovely lunch, a really good chat and a lot of fun together. The lady at the next table even decided that she wants to join our group in January. We finished with a gift bag each and a Secret Santa.

We took Ellie out for a muddy walk across the fields.

I have been trying to buy pearl barley when I have been shopping and it seems they are sold out or maybe people don’t buy it anymore. As I was slow cooking beef, Mal walked to the Co op and miraculously bought their last packet!

We spent the morning at the allotments. I am shocked at how quickly the housing estate next to Mal’s allotment is shooting up! It explains a lot about the shoddy building nowadays. They are also building where it floods!

Nor could we believe that there were caterpillars on the cabbages! In December?! Broad beans are coming through already. Mal planted onions and I planted flower bulbs.

Rhys came round for the evening, it was nice to see him. He had a fare in Sandwich so spent some time with us having a catch up.

We went for a muddy walk in Wingham woods.

On the way home, we stopped at the farm shop to buy some onion sets for the allotment.

I then went to Westwood Boots as I had a really itchy rash all around the front of my neck and chest, in fact is was burning. I saw the pharmacist who asked if my booster was the same as my first two Covid vacs. I told him, they were different but after asking that he didn’t tell me why he was asking. I was a little concerned it maybe shingles but he told me not. He told me to take antihistamine and put E45 on the rash.

In the afternoon we watched Hammers, they didn’t win but I guess I should say, they didn’t lose!

Lou, Ollie, Oscar and Josie came for a Sunday roast on Saturday! Mal cooked turkey and all the trimmings. We are all going out Christmas day and I don’t think any of us have ordered turkey so it made a nice change. It was lovely to see them, seems like it has been quite a while, with all their positive tests.

I was very tired and a very achy swollen arm.
