I went shopping at 7am, to get the last fresh food for Boxing Day. I bought some nice Christmas flowers and took them round to the cemetery for Torin.

Early evening we drove to Ramsgate harbour to see the lights on the boats.

Later we went to the memory tree in Sandwich and put on a message for Torin. They really are so thoughtful in this town. The local nursery, Archers Low, give the tree.

We then thought we may as well go for a drink and so went to the Market Inn, with Ellie of course. She just lays next to the table.

On the way home we stopped at Ossie’s and bought fish and chips! Well, that’s a good Christmas Eve!

Mal went to get his hair cut, he’s only been saying for 2 weeks that he meant to! I walked Ellie and then we went to visit Mal’s sister Marion and drop her presents off.

Early evening we all met up and went to the panto. We really missed it last year. Even Rhys and Tariq came this year!

It’s always a lot of fun and silliness, just we need after the last year!

What a lovely morning. Our first frost, which means our parsnips will be sweeter! The sun was out and a lovely crisp walk. Ellie loves rolling in the frost, for a Mediterranean dog she loves the cold !

We went for a long walk over the fields.

We met up with Mal’s two sons, Tris and Dom for a pre Christmas meal at Mullins Brasserie in Margate. We had a very nice Caribbean meal and exchanged presents.

Today is the winter solstice, longer days from tomorrow…..yay!

I went into Deal, now thinking about birthday presents, just in case Boris changes his mind.

In the evening we started watching ‘Strike’ again from the beginning.

Now Maddie and River won’t be with us at Christmas, Lou and Rhys decided to drop all their presents off as they were going to Bluewater today, so would call into Rochester. They were leaving at 7.30 and so we dropped our presents over there before they left. We had Ellie with us and so had a long walk at Reculver too. A bit chilly but nice for a brisk walk. I think every post box in Herne Bay has a crocheted Christmas topper on it.

Mal went to the allotments in the afternoon and moved more chippings on to our paths. There is a massive pile there at the moment.

Lou and Rhys and the kids came round for a pre Christmas roast, cooked by Mal. I made the desserts,  he prepared the rest of the meal.

Of course Rhys had to pull a silly face for the photo!

Now we have heard that Maddie has just tested positive for Covid. Maddie and River won’t be coming to the panto with us this week nor joining us for Christmas. Such a shame.

A really dismal misty day. I did a bit more shopping. Bit by bit! Mal took Ellie for her walk as I went early.
