We had rain overnight and then quite windy in the morning. Mal decided he was going to lop some of the trees in the front garden, not the easiest to get to.
I found this Praying Mantis on the terrace but he doesn’t look much like the ones I have seen before. Mal suggests it may be a Thistle Mantis or a Unicorn Mantis but he is not sure and he is the one with a Biology Degree!

I went to Atakara for Cyprus Today and some olive bread. Later Bev and Gary came round but Bev had been to the dentist and was in a lot of pain, so declined lunch as Bev just wanted to get home rather than eat. Hope it calms down very soon Bev.
While they were here, one of the black cats walked in the house and jumped on the kitchen work top and started eating the olive bread , yes, through the wrapper! We’ll have to be careful now not to leave any food out and also to keep doors closed. Cheeky cat.
It was another beautiful day and so the rest of the day we were out in the garden.

Our daughter in law, Lou has been training very hard and will be running her first Half Marathon in Bath in 5 days time. She is raising money for Cancer Research in memory of her Auntie Sue. Well done to Lou. With 6 children at home and working in the family business, where does she find the time? As they say if you want something doing give it to a busy person. She is raising money for Cancer Research, so if anyone wants to donate click on the link above. We all know someone who is suffering from this awful disease, or lost someone with cancer. Even £1 will help.
The weather was beautiful and so Mal power washed the whole drive and I spent the day weeding.

We went off to Dodgy Turk to tell them our two week old TV box was not working. No problem, it was obviously one that had been used before and so they said we could have a new one this time(why couldn’t we last time?) Could we come back in an hour when they would set it up.
We went to Lemar, Karakum to get some shopping while we waited. I checked the receipt while Mal used the facilities and they had charged us for 3 loaves of bread instead of the two we had in the trolley. Back to the cashier and they filled out a form and then handed me back 3.99tl. Of course no apology, just a glare and the Cyprus shrug. Did I expect anything different?
Back to Dodgy Turk and the box was ready for us.
I really had to have a giggle when I saw that Torin had posted the picture below on his Facebook!!
Mal decided as it was Sunday we would have breakfast in bed and what a lovely view we have from our bed, looking down to the Med!
The second and final round of the elections are being held today in South Cyprus. I am guessing with a new President , the “Cyprus talks” will start up again.
It was a beautiful morning, so out gardening.
In the afternoon we sat down to watch the Man City v Chelsea match and the light went out on our new Digiturk box and failed to work again! So, we had to watch it on the laptop and will have to go back to Digiturk to get a new box. This one we have had for about two weeks, the last one we had for 8 years! They don’t make things like they used to.

Mal and I went to Ileli to buy some shopping and of course, Cyprus Today. A lack of news in there as usual. But, we bumped into one of my readers, Jan. Jan contacts me from time to time with very nice emails, so it was really good to put a face to the name. Nice meeting you at last Jan and good luck with the problems that you have here.
We bought 2 bars of Ritter Sport Chocolate, two for the price of one and they were sellotaped together. Beware! I checked the date while I was in the shop and it was 25/9/2013. When I took the sellotape off when we arrived home, the expiry date of the other bar was on the inside and yes, it had expired! Very crafty.
Later we watched the Man U v QPR game. Seeing as it was the top playing the bottom of the league, I’d have thought there would have been a few more goals.
Our daughter in law Karen and her sister were staying at our caravan for the weekend and we had a phone call to say that the fuse box was smoking and they had to use the fire extinguisher!! The site owners have got an electrician in to sort it out. Either this is covered by our insiurance or, the site owners didn’t have the electrics checked before we took the caravan over. Typical for it to happen when we are not there. I understand Karen and her sister spent the day in Canterbury, I guess to keep warm!!

The Buyagift 29% off offer is still running today. When they sent us the information, they made a mistake with the dates. It is 29% off yesterday and today. I have checked it by booking one of their “One night bed and breakfast Getaway for Two for £79”. The voucher lasts until December so plenty of time for Mal and I to use it. The price we bought it for £56! The Cider house in Somerset looks interesting, so maybe that will be where we visit with a tour around their microbrewery.
Margaretha came round in the morning. It was quite a miserable day and so we had the log burner going all day but it made it nice and cosy.
In the afternoon we spoke to Rhys, Josie. Ollie and Oscar on Skype, so we heard all about what they are doing at school. I also spoke to my sister. They are all saying how bitterly cold it is in the UK. The wind chill factor seems to be the problem.
