I phoned the docs at 8 am -10th in the queue but I did get an appointment for the afternoon. Of course it wasn’t with a GP. Does anyone see a doctor any more? She examined my ears and gave me a prescription for cream, drops and antibiotics.  I went to Boots in Sandwich and of course they didn’t have the drops, so they would get them in for the following day. Standing waiting for the other things, I realised this lot (had I not been old!) would cost just under £30!!

Tuesday 29th October 2024

I walked Ellie and Mal went to get the train to Tewkesbury to see his brother.

I spent most of the day cleaning. I have a bad ear but no chance getting an appointment at our surgery “go to the assessment at Deal or Canterbury”.  no way! The way the roads are blocked at the moment too much stress. I’ll take their other suggestion to ring again at 8 tomorrow!  Apart from anything else they have recently built a huge extension to the surgery but there is never anyone there! Nothing makes sense any more.

Monday 28th October 2024

A work day and we were quite busy. We had masses of donations and managed NINE new gift aiders! That was probably the most ever in one day. For those who don’t volunteer for charity, we have all sorts of targets to be met….eg one new gift aider a day. But we also had some lovely customers. Three who were so pleased with the clothes they bought that they gave a money donation as well…how lovely!

Sunday 27th October 2024

We were privileged to have Lou and Rhys visit again. Of course they should be in Spain, were it not for poor Marlene, their greyhound. So a Sunday roast together. Mal seems to like cooking a roast, so nice I have a break. I just do starters and desserts.

It really was a lovely meal. Marlene came too but is still wobbly and went to lay on the sofa in the conservatory. At least she is improving slowly. Of course Josie and Oscar came as well.

The football was on but Rhys and I spent a lot of the time chatting on our own. That made a nice change.

Saturday 26th October 2024

Our 26th wedding anniversary but a busy day yesterday and also tomorrow I think and so although we intended going out for lunch, we changed our minds as it was a dull day.

In the morning we had to take Ellie to “fat clinic” at the vets and having put on a bit of weight last time, we have managed to get her back down to 27.8kg which is almost her ideal weight. Surprising after the the bits of food Rhys was feeding her the previous day! So, we were both really pleased with that.

So having a lazy day, we had a take away and a rather nice bottle of Liquid Diamond Prosseco.

Friday 25th October 2024

Sol was off work this week so they travelled down south to see everyone, so today we had four generations! Luna is such a happy little girl and into all sorts of mischief and she loves dogs and Ellie really liked sharing toys with her!  We were lucky it was such a nice day that we even spent some time in the garden! So lovely to see her now she lives such a distance away.

We had so much fun. A lovely day.
