We went for a walk in the ravine first thing and bumped into Kenny walking Loppi. Well, that was about 15 minutes gone! We explored paths we hadn’t been up before, where they have been laying new water pipes. One particularly steep part, we decided it was too steep to climb and then thought we would give it a try. Mal pulled my arm, fell over and then I collapsed in a heap! We both bounced, no damage but did get up there in the end.

We have a large carob in the garden and parts of it are dying, on closer examination it looks as though tree rats are stripping the bark and killing it, so we set to cutting all the dead bits out. For all the cats we have pestering us, why aren’t they chasing the tree rats away?!!  We are keeping all the dead wood for our winter fires, so Mal will have to chop it all up.

We rang the boys as they are still on half term. Busy children in Herne Bay this afternoon…….

In the evening we met up with Robin at Silver Rocks as we hadn’t seen him for a while. We had a really good meal. A lovely evening thanks Robin.

An early morning walk. Today we were joined by three dogs, including Bobby who used to play with Rosie. Then to Ileli to get some fresh fruit and vegetables and  Cyprus Today – more from K5 inside. A bit of a joke when NCFP were told to not publish the story and then there it is in Cyprus Today!! People are playing games here…not unusual. The NCFP article is the original “story”.

Lunchtime I met up with Sue and Tanya at the Cabin. Lots of gossip and news and some very good food as usual. Good company too. The only thing was they forgot my lunch until the others were half way through theirs but the waiter was very apologetic. No problem.

Today is Turkish Republic Day, the 90th, another holiday!

Time for Mal and I to start walking off some of the excesses of the last few days food and drink! We went off down into the ravine and then up until we reached the plateau where a Russian has evidently bought the land to build THE biggest house! Nice views but a bit of a weird plot.

Pool cleaning and gardening. My first roses are out and things are starting to turn green again.

A walk along the beach in the morning and then breakfast, back to our green and pink room and time to pack. Holiday over! It was nice and sunny on the short flight back, so I managed to get a good picture of the flag as we flew over it.

Home again, unpacked and all the washing done. We heard from Tris who is coming on holiday with Violet next week. Really looking forward to seeing them.

We were later than usual getting up and spent most of the day on the beach. Truth be told we both had quite a lot to drink the previous night, well it was our anniversary. The green, pink and gold didn’t look quite so appealing when we got back to our room!

We hadn’t realised before booking this hotel, Sunday is the animation teams day off and also no afternoon tea and cakes! There was still a singer in the evening in one of the bars.

We are still amazed that the hotel is a bit like a palace with all the glitz.

Today was Mal’s and my wedding anniversary. Mal said he would even treat me to dinner….ha ha! We opened our cards and presents and then breakfast and then we caught the bus into Terra City for a look round. Back to the hotel and lunch and then to one of the pools which was surprisingly warm.

Dinner in the outside restaurant and then music in one of the bars.

We were up and packed to go away for a long weekend, for our wedding anniversary. Off to Ercan for a flight to Antalya. It is such a short hop, seems as soon as they are up in the air, the plane is coming down again. We booked a transfer to our hotel but we had to wait for nearly two hours at the airport. Yes, the girl was there at the desk and asked us to wait as there were three more passengers. When we complained about the wait, a good start to our holiday, she told us their plane had been delayed. Two hours later when said passengers arrived, we asked if their plane had been delayed, No they told us it was on time!! DON’T use Resorthoppa, we don’t like being lied to. The hotel wasn’t that far away, we could have been there and back twice in the time we waited!

Eventually we arrived at our hotel – Club Hotel Sera at Lara Beach just in time for lunch. Our cases were taken to our room and we went off to the restaurant. After lunch we went to our room and unpacked. Well, Mal and I couldn’t stop laughing at the decor in the room, a little over the top even by Turkish standards! Fascinating really how each room in our block has eight sides and all those mirrors and ornate pieces, what a lot of cleaning but it was all spotless!! We also had a balcony with a sea view. Pink, gold and green……erm!

We spent the afternoon exploring and realising just how big the hotel and grounds are. This is another of Lara’s 24 hour food and drink all inclusive. We booked it quite a while ago and managed to get it for £50 a night for both of us and commented that we have actually spent more than that on a Premier Inn in Cardiff, with no food or drink!

Afternoon tea and cake and then dinner in the outside restaurant, which we followed with working our way down the cocktail menu!!
