I ordered 5 kilo of chicken breast from the butchers in Birchington, his is the best and only £20, so we collected that. From there we took Ellie to Westgate for a run on the beach. Dog heaven!

When Ellie had run and played enough we walked up to the cafe for a coffee. There are always people to chat to and we end up staying far longer than we planned.

In the evening I watched Chris Packham’s ‘The Walk that Made Me.’ A good watch, brave man.

We took Ellie to King George park. It was raining when we left home but it had stopped by the time we arrived there.

I then dropped Mal and Ellie off at home and  went shopping in Deal.

In the afternoon we went to the allotment to do some picking. Today carrots, french beans, runner beans, courgettes and beetroot and of course some flowers.

It was really windy but Ellie found a nice little corner to sit in.

We bought Mal’s sister Marion an annual zoo pass for Wingham Wildlife Park as she loves it there. So today was the day to take her with her new pass. Marion has mental health problems and she gets very excitable seeing all the animals, lovely to see but we have to tell her to keep the noise down a bit sometimes.

We spent a lot of time watching the Orangutans, they are so funny carrying their blankets around. The rescued chimps were all lazing about in the sun, having an afternoon siesta.

Having spent the day with the animals we then took Marion out for a meal before taking her home.

An early walk with Ellie while Mal went to the allotment to reorganise one of the paths as there were plenty of wood chippings there.

I met the Red Hatters at the Racing Greyhound for lunch. 15 were supposed to come and only 9 arrived. Why do people say they are coming and then not appear? Very strange. Well, we enjoyed it anyway.

We tried to make more plans but some things are still stumbling to get going with Covid.

We went to Dover Castle.

Quite a few things there are restricted and also a one way system. We have been before many times so didn’t feel we were missing out too much.

We stopped in Deal on the way home for something to eat.

It was then time for them to pack everything up and Lou and Rhys came to collect them.  We had a good time together.

We walked the dogs in the rain and then went for our return tournament at the crazy golf to Quex Park. Thank goodness the rain stopped!

Back home for lunch and then the kids watched a film.

In the evening we went to the Bell at Minster and enjoyed a lovely evening in their garden. They had their “pie and pudding evening”, which the kids loved. Very good pies too! Music in the garden as well, we told the kids it was disco night!!

I think the kids enjoyed their puds!

A busy day!

Lou and Rhys dropped the kids off in the morning and we went to the park and took the dogs for a run. Once the dogs had their exercise we drove into Margate and had some lunch there.

From there we went ten pin bowling.

It was still raining a bit and so we went home, by which time the rain had stopped!

The weather really is so changeable and the forecasts just aren’t getting it right.
