Today we changed internet providers, of course nothing worked as it should from the start, so Mal spent ages on the phone to them. Our last provider hiked their prices.

We then went out to lunch to the Punch Tavern as they sent me a voucher for a free meal for my birthday.

We called into the garden centre on the way home.

We took Ellie for a walk in the orchards. It  doesn’t look as though it is going to be a good apricot season, so many on the ground, maybe through lack of water.

Ellie chased all over the place but we didn’t see any rabbits at all which is unusual. I spotted an oak gall.

They have replaced two fields of orchards with wheat.

In the evening I met up with the Red Hatters and we went to see CATS at Margate Winter Gardens. Let’s say it was OK but it was difficult to actually hear the words they were singing! Plus I saw it years ago in London so this seemed very amateurish! But we had ice creams in the interval. Ladies behind us told us to take off our fascinators! None of them are big and at shows we don’t wear hats on purpose.

Lou had her car returned, so they went to collect it and then returned my car. I went off to Westwood shopping but it was one of those days everything I wanted wasn’t available in my size/colour/type, even down to the solar lights for the garden as two sets of mine have packed up. I did manage to buy a few plants and food but nothing I really went for.  Some of Mal’s runner beans have been eaten and so he asked me to look for plants but I couldn’t find any! Not a successful shop.

Of course I am watching Springwatch every evening.

We walked Ellie along the river, another nice day but a few black clouds along the way.

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon. Asparagus and broad beans for dinner!

We walked Ellie and then got ready for a BBQ with Lou and Rhys.

Mal and I now have matching aprons, courtesy of Tariq who bought them for our birthdays!

A day catching up with things and also Lou and Josie came over to take me shopping.

Everything in the garden was gasping for water and also at the allotment where Mal went in the afternoon, bringing back some asparagus.
