Another beautiful sunrise. Actually there is one every morning! Love it.

Cyprus Today. I had to laugh about the “Extraordinary session” of government. One item on the agenda, to lower the quorum from 26 to 17 of its 50 MP’s didn’t happen because not enough MP’s turned up! So, the report in Cyprus Today on this weeks K5 episode.

We walked in the mountains early in the morning and as I came back through the village I counted TEN stray puppies. This really is getting crazy. Later in the morning a stray rottweiler was lying at the top of our drive in the shade of the carob tree! I managed to get it to move on! David said it had already been in their drive. Perhaps the new law stating that all dogs have to be micro chipped by the end of June is causing a lot of dog “owners” to dump them.

I was invited to David and Kenny’s lunchtime for a BBQ and very good it was too. Jennifer and Dave were there as well with their dog Sammy and of course Ellie came too. Four very well behaved dogs. Dave and David spent some time discussing what they were going to do with broken pool tiles.

Ellie and I had a long walk, chatted to the man up the road who has hurt his leg and so can’t walk his dogs, cleaned the pool and back washed it, all before 7.00am! We did encounter a fox on our walk. I hope they don’t have mange.

I heard from Mal who decided he hasn’t time to go shopping and so had a Tesco home delivery last night!

I went food shopping (I can’t get Tesco to deliver!) and also bought a new lock for our meter cupboard as the one on there has just completely fallen apart. Nothing lasts in the sun and heat.

I was sad to hear that Maya Angelou has died. If you don’t know who she is, read one of her books “I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.” She was an inspiration.

I was awake whilst it was still dark but as soon as it started to get light, what a lovely sky.

Ellie and I went by the sea for our walk.
The fishermen were up early too….

I spent most of the day gardening until Murray came on the French Open, so I did watch that. Later I caught up with “Happy Valley”, not a very happy place!

One of the benefits of getting up at 5am………..

I’ll never grow tired of seeing the sun rise on our walks every morning.

Lunch time I met up with Sue, Joan and Tanya at the Hut for lunch and a catch up.

Perhaps I should just say we won’t be eating there again. The deserts were awful and we didn’t leave a tip. Enough said. Shame as it is in a nice location but then so are plenty of others in an equally good location.

I ached from all the pool work and gardening yesterday! I intended going for quite a short walk but as often happens, once Ellie and I get going, it’s just too enjoyable to cut short! So the short walk turned into a long one. A good thing I had water with us, and camera, phone, keys, wipes and a multitude of other things in a small back pack!

An estate agent approached Mal about marketing our property,so I had a clean up and then get a message from Mal that he has double booked and so won’t be coming until this afternoon!! No comment yet!

He arrived and was very nice and told us we should be marketing it for more than we have it priced at. Their agency even has Chinese looking to buy!

Ellie and I went high up into the mountains. She stays on the path with me and suddenly she dashed around the corner in front of us. I couldn’t see her. The next thing a very frightened looking hare came speeding past me followed by Ellie. Well, the speed they were going at I thought perhaps I wouldn’t see Ellie again! She had total focus. After about 5 minutes I whistled her and eventually she came back panting heavily! Obviously didn’t keep up with the hare.  It was another beautiful morning.

The jacaranda tree in the garden is in full flower.

And the mulberries are so delicious. Again Mal is missing them all. That’s a shame as I bought the trees for him.

I seem to have spent the entire day trying to sort the pool out. I have decided I am getting too old for all this. I should just be swimming in it!

Out walking and while I have been away all the orchids have gone. The caper flowers are very pretty at the moment

Kulaksiz 5 will be in court again for the main case this week. I fail to understand how they are managing to drag this out for such a very long time.

A reminder that the KAV May  Fair is on this afternoon/evening at The Wild Duck, Lapta. It is a cancer research charity fund raiser.

I went along in the afternoon and there were a lot of people there and I should imagine it got busier towards the evening. The Wild Duck was a great place to have it as they have such a lovely garden. The lady who was going to have her head shaved to raise money was being offered £500 NOT to have it shaved. That was about the time I left so I don’t know what happened after that. I just hope they raised a lot of money.
