We went for a walk with Ellie along the North Downs Way, a little muddy but a lovely walk!

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon and pruned all the raspberry bushes.

We took Ellie for a day with Lou and Rhys while Mal and I went to London.  Rhys drove us to the station.

We had a Thai meal and then went to see Pantoland at the Palladium.  The theatre was full and whilst they went through the motions of checking bags, COVID passports etc, it was very cursory. Mal commented that they could just have easily been checking your QR code at Argos!

The show was excellent and so funny. Stars included Donny Osmond, Julian Cleary, Nigel Havers, Gary Wilmott and Paul Zerdin.

For old times sake we wandered through Carnaby Street after the show.

If ever I need any “different” shoes, I now know where to come, their shoes are amazing!

We took Ellie to the park in Ramsgate, a dull and dismal day overlooking the sea. At least it didn’t rain while we were walking.

We stopped at Westwood on the way home to collect Mal’s brothers birthday present.

Mal managed to move more wood chippings on to my allotment.

I was given a couple of generous vouchers for Christmas and so went looking  at the shops. Having not found anything I really liked I think I will leave it until they have cleared all the Christmas/New Year things and have new stock.

We watched the Spurs game in the afternoon, perhaps we should have watched Hammers, they won! Only a draw for Spurs but I  do think they were unlucky.

Mal made breakfast and for once the weather forecast was correct, it was dry until 10. We went to Minnis Bay so Ellie had a paddle in the sea. It’s been a long time since we have “done” the beach because of Southern Water’s pollution of the seas around here.  A nice walk and as we returned to the car at 10, the rain started!

We watched a couple of films.

In the evening we watched Man U.

We left the hotel and went to collect Ellie and all our presents from Rhys’s and then headed home. Lou and Rhys and the kids then came later as we had a buffet prepared for them. Games as well!

We drove over to Rhys’s at 7.30am, ready for present opening. Tariq is staying there over Christmas.

We had some lovely presents and a relaxed morning with Bucks Fizz and then we walked to Miller and Carter for our Christmas lunch.

We had a good meal but Mal couldn’t see the sense of serving a quarter of an iceberg lettuce with steak!

Back to the house until it was time for us to walk to the hotel, so everyone came with us and then took the two dogs back with them.
