Mal painted some more at the house. Tris joined him late morning. I took another car load of things over, all our clothes on all the hangers. I didn’t want to get them all creased packing them up! Too lazy to iron them all again, truth be told!

Mal worked over there until 6, so I took Ellie out and then went to pick him up.

I think the horses will miss Ellie, this one always follows her the length of the field.

I dropped Mal over at the Sandwich house and today Tariq joined him as he is home for leave from the Marines. We sat and chatted for a while, he is still loving it and only has 5 weeks left until he passes out. He managed to get a lot of our boxes up into the loft. That was a good job Mal wasn’t looking forward to. He also started painting the conservatory while Mal glossed doors and frames…..never ending!

I then went to Timpsons to get the new lock spare key cut. No problem, of course he could cut it! 

More packing and later collected Mal.

I think the birds and squirrels are going to miss our bird feeder!

I took Ellie out early, just as well because it rained on and off all day. Lou did so much glossing over at the house. I had to go and buy more gloss and more paint for the living room (now the 4th coat!)  Westwood was manic, the usual panic buying for bank holidays. I really don’t understand people. It’s only two days bank holidays.  I spent more time packing.

We managed to get a replacement door lock from our local ironmongers (they were shut the previous day). Mal fitted it but it only had two keys so I went back round to the shop to have more cut. I left the key there until later as the key cutter was at lunch. I walked back in the rain just before they closed, only to be told that he couldn’t cut it as it was a specialised one and I would have to get a locksmith to order one. I told him I had bought the lock from him and he just suggested I bought a different lock! My goodness, things are never easy. 

Mal later looked it up on the internet and it appears that Timpson do them! Another day!

I had a really bad day, it happens.

We took Ellie out and decided to go around the orchards. The apricot blossom is out, it is always earlier than the apple.

The rain just got heavier and heavier and we were soaked in the end. We arrived home and Rhys phoned to say he was at the house and he had forgotten his key. So, I drove Mal over there straight away and I stayed home to pack more boxes.

I also tried to buy a replacement lock for one of the two on the front door. I couldn’t seem to find an identical one.

I  noticed that we had a new addition in the field next door to us. The little lamb must only be a couple of hours old. 

I then went to Demelza. On the way I dropped off an Easter parcel at Hermes, for Scarlet and Jack. We don’t get any acknowledgement that the parcels have been received but we know they are signed for. We get no thank you notes from the kids as we used to when Torin helped them to do it.  Needless to say we hear nothing from their mother but in years to come we can tell the twins that we were always thinking of them and sending them things (in case anyone tries to tell them a different story!

We took Ellie out and then went over to Lou and Rhys’s as Lou was going out training again. She managed 24 miles meanwhile I cooked the Sunday roast.  Lou came back looking surprisingly refreshed but she did say her legs ached.I am not surprised.

She is doing so well seeing as she has never run a marathon before. Only three weeks to go until the Brighton Marathon. So far she has raised £525 (including gift aid).

Meanwhile Grandad was playing Dobble with the kids.

 
The clocks have changed so it is nice for it to be lighter in the evenings.
