Mal and I went up the mountains with Rosie just before the rain started.I don’t know what has happened to the weather when we have heard in the UK it is the warmest Halloween on record! It seems to be rain and storms here.

We were around the pool during the day.Ellie just loves having the kids here.

In the evening we went to the Wild Duck for their Halloween “do”. There were lots of people there and more importantly, a lot of children so Scarlet and Jack loved it. The Alsancak witch, Margaretha came as well. We didn’t leave until 10.30 as the kids were having so much fun!

The day started off well with sunshine. Mal and I took Ellie out before anyone else woke up. We decided to go to the beach, so headed for the Cabin. Well, obviously following the storms, the entire beach was covered with seaweed. We went in for a drink anyway and suddenly the wind got up and we had to sit inside.

Jack found a new friend. No language barrier at that age.

In the end we gave up on the beach idea as it was very windy and started raining. We drove on to Magarina Bulli. Everyone loved the food and they give you so much but it is good home cooked Cypriot food. Kezi always makes us feel very welcome. It was obvious that it had been pouring down with rain before we arrived as they had taken a lot of the tables inside.

From there, all feeling very full, we drove into Girne. Jack was not impressed with clothes and bag shopping!

But Scarlet and Jack managed to earn some lira and so we took them to Mr Pound to spend their money.
In the evening I dropped Charlotte and Torin off at Baroosh Bar.

We went to Green Heights Park and Scarlet and Jack went in swimming. It is just so nice and relaxing there and we stayed for lunch.

I was at the airport at 7am to collect Charlotte, Torin, Scarlet and Jack. The plane was a little late. Same old comment about Pegasus, how miserable the air crew were and didn’t want to do anything for the passengers!

Back home and we spent the whole day around and in the pool. They all wanted just to relax having hardly slept in the night.

A walk in the mountains and we met up with Dave with his 3 dogs. I keep meaning to look up what shrub produces this fruit.

In the afternoon we sorted the house out ready for our visitors tomorrow, Charlotte, Torin, Scarlet and Jack. I bet the twins are getting very excited.

We had quite a lot of rain.

Happy Anniversary to my lovely husband! Weymouth seems such a long time ago, that is where we got married!

The clocks changed early hours of this morning. We were up early anyway it was such a nice morning. A long walk along Lapta walkway and then on to the beach but it was full of sea weed.

I have to say the sunrise was spectacular.

Mal made breakfast which we ate outside. A very lazy morning by the pool and then we went out to lunch at Açmenya. It’s a very relaxed place to have Sunday lunch and we both enjoyed it. We always seem to see someone we know down there.

We later watched a very entertaining Man U v Chelsea game. We had a really nice day.

Our walk was very windy but at least the rain clouds kept away.

We later went to Lambousa to buy tickets for the fireworks on 1st November as Scarlet and Jack will be here. 20tl on the night which I find a little expensive for two 5 year olds.  Last year children had a reduction. In fact this year if you wait until the night the price of a child’s ticket has doubled from 10tl to 20tl. But as we have bought ours today, it is 15tl each, same for the kids. 25% increase. I’ll say no more about that. I am just hoping now I have bought the tickets that it isn’t pee-ing down with rain on the night which is actually forecast!  On the way back we bought Cyprus Today.

We watched the Hammers v Man City game. That put a smile on Mal’s face. They won 2-1.
