We walked Ellie and she had plenty of dogs to play with.
It is the last day for the Eat Out government offer and we had booked for the George and Dragon. I think it is now our favourite Sandwich pub and a bonus, it is dog friendly. It really is the best dressed crab I have had in a long while, so of course I ordered it again. They did not disappoint. We had a wander around Sandwich on the way home as it should have been Italian weekend, cancelled of course, but they made an effort and had a lot of stalls all around the town.

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay for her walk. She started panicking in the car thinking it was going to be another 6 hour journey and I think she was relieved when we arrived at the sea! My goodness it was rough and windy, perhaps not the best day to go but she enjoyed it.
I spent the afternoon cleaning the conservatory, a proper clean now it is not in excess of 50 degrees in there!
We were pleased to see “Strike” back on the TV.

A quick trip to Westwood as I had ordered a coat from Debenhams and had to collect it. It looked too big and I really am fed up with not being able to try things on, then have to bring them home and then take them back again. So, I took it to the Ladies loo, tried it on….too big so immediately went back to the counter for a refund!! That saved another journey.
In the afternoon we went to the allotment to do some picking and weeding. At least the weeding is easier now the ground has had a soaking.
Hopefully we will have some grapes, they are quite small at the moment. There are also loads of apples.

Mal took Ellie and I went to get some shopping. I bought a small table lamp to replace one that had broken and then went on a search for coffee filters as I have been looking for them for the last week. Nowhere seems to have them. I noticed queues had started again, so very quickly bought what I needed and went home! Shopping is no pleasure nowadays. I couldn’t believe the queue outside Clarks shoe shop, I guess all the kids needing school shoes and parents waiting until the last minute in case the government change their minds again!
Well, we had a LOT of rain in the afternoon, in fact some streets in Deal were flooded and several shops closed.
Thought for the Day – “When you see something beautiful in someone, tell them. It may take a second to say but for them it could last a lifetime.”
Ollie, Oscar and Josie arrived in the morning and were staying the night. What a lovely surprise. Oscar and Josie had made us thank you cards and Ollie made us an enormous three layer cake to thank us for the holiday. Bless them.
We went to the allotment where they did a bit of weeding and picked some of their vegetables. Back home for lunch. They do love the olive bread I buy and making their own sandwiches with it. Of course we finished with some of Ollie’s delicious cake.
We watched a film in the afternoon and then went to The Punch Tavern for dinner. Ollie said he had the best pizza ever and Oscar said it was the best chocolate fudge cake he had ever had! Three of us also had the never ending ice cream but because of the safety precautions we couldn’t help ourselves and the waiting staff were really good and kept getting us more even though they were busy. We also watched them doing a lot of cleaning all the time. Excellent service.

Well, the rain came during the night which means we don’t have to water the allotment but it must have been a bit windy too because three of my tomato plants blew over in the garden. Tomatoes all over the lawn!
We walked Ellie in the rain but she loved rolling on the wet grass!
We went to Dunkerley’s in Deal for lunch. We haven’t been there for years and as the “Eat In” offer was on, decided to try it again.
Suffice to say it was chaos in there and even though there were only two other tables when we ordered dessert, we had to wait 25 minutes and then had to get up and ask for it. We couldn’t find anyone to give us the bill and then when we managed to get it, we had someone else’s drinks added on to it! I think we will leave it another few years before we bother going back.
