We took Ellie out and afterwards took a few things to the dump.

Rhys had a photo from Tariq, as he was travelling past Cyprus…..

I sent the photo to David who said he was very lucky to see the sun as it had been awful weather all week! What a contrast to the UK.

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay and it was lovely in the sun. Of course Ellie swam and ran around with other dogs. She does love it down there.

I met Rhys for lunch, it seems quite a while since we had a bit of time together, so it was really nice. We went to the Hooden Horse and afterwards we had a wander around the shops and Rhys managed to help me buy River’s birthday present. There are a lot of March birthdays in our family.

In the evening we watched the Spurs game. I couldn’t believe the second goal!

Last night we watched the film, ‘The Favourite’. That’s two hours of our lives we won’t have again! Not impressed.

Too nice a day to stay in and so we took Ellie out and then went to the zoo. Arina , my favourite there, the Siberian Tiger, spent most of the time in the shade so I didn’t get a very good photo of her but I have hundreds of others! The baby molloch gibbon put his tongue out to me! Beebee the honey badger was sound asleep in the sun.

Later in the afternoon we went to the carpet place in Sandwich. The door was open and so we walked in and no one came out to see us. There was a guy in there who totally ignored us and when we shouted out to him, he said “Can’t you read the owner is only here Friday and Saturday”. If the door hadn’t been open maybe we could have read the sign!! I think we may be going elsewhere to buy our flooring.

A day at Demelza and we were quite busy. Lots to do as Jack was off last week and things had been left.

We didn’t do so well in the wedding dress sale as the shop did last year. Maybe not so many people are getting married.

It was a nice sunny warm day again.

Rhys had an airport run so Lou came over with Ollie, Oscar and Josie. Josie still wasn’t quite back to normal after being ill in the week. Rhys does like his liver and bacon (Mal does too!) so I plate some up for a meal for Lou to take home. I also cooked pulled pork. The desserts were apple crumble and cherry clafoutis. The clafoutis I used to make a lot in Cyprus with fresh cherries.  We send the desserts home with them too or Mal eats them!

It was really lovely and warm so we walked down to the park with Ellie and Mal went and bought the kids “Unicones” (unicorn ice creams).

Mal also bought some fresh flowers which we put on Torin’s grave on the way back.

Feeling much better I went shopping in the morning. I have to say I don’t know why I bother with self check outs in Sainsbury’s. The poor lady had to come over 5 times. Not just to my till but others seemed to be messing up too. 6 bottles of wine are now 25% off, at least my wine was but evidently it is only on “selected” wines but the assistant hadn’t a clue what the selected ones were! Then I had a £4 voucher it wouldn’t accept and should have done. It went on.

At least the sun was out after the early morning fog.

I wrapped the birthday presents for Scarlet and Jack and boxed them up ready to post. I so hope that they are given them. It is such a very sad situation that their mother has kept us from seeing them. I know how they must be hurting losing their dad without having to lose Nanny and Grandad too. I just have faith that one day they will learn the truth and we have evidence of everything we have done to keep in touch. We even send them postcards when we go away!

Mal has always drawn a picture of us on everything we give the grandkids. It started when they were small and couldn’t read, so they always knew who their presents and cards were from. He has continued this (even though River is nearly 22!!) So, not only on the presents and cards but Mal also does it on the outside of the box we post to the twins! We hope they will be at home and see it.

We took Ellie for a walk and half way round I started getting pains, we dashed home as I had an upset stomach. Not a good day.

Meanwhile Ellie made herself very comfortable.
