I went shopping, into Sainsbury first as I had to show the manager a screen print of my bank account to show two payments had been taken instead of one. It was her day off! However a “stand in” gave me both payments back. I said “Is that it because this is a major error?” He took my phone number and told me the Manager would call me. We’ll see! I had also taken the cream carton back and told him it was not extra thick. I was refunded the cream money! I am getting a little fed up with shopping lately.

I went into Tesco to buy some other things including pease pudding. I couldn’t find it.  I spoke to a young girl and she told me to look in the pudding section. I told her no, it is usually in with tinned vegetables. She looked at me as if I were mad! I mentioned it to the lady on the till saying I couldn’t find any and so she enquired and was told they have stopped selling it!! I then had to go back to Sainsburys who DO still stock it!

Later we put some of the Christmas decorations up.

We took Ellie over to Rhys and Lou’s as we dropped off a trifle for dinner because we were going to Oscar’s school special assembly on Internet Safety. Yes, a good thing to teach kids young. Oscar had a talking part in it and was very good. He is holding the letter R.

Lou and Rhys were both on school runs and so couldn’t attend. In fact not many parents did. Following the assembly we brought Oscar and Josie home. Lou cooked us dinner with the trifle to follow! I made it because it is Tariq’s favourite and he is back for a few days. Very shortly he will be on a ship to Oman. He is hoping he will be spending Christmas in Cyprus but that is very wishful thinking. He opened our Christmas present today as he will be off soon.

I used Sainsbury “Extra thick double cream” on the top of the trifle. It was not extra thick and ruined the trifle as it was running everywhere on the journey over there. Mal had to hold the bowl all the way there.

I went into Deal to have my hair done and they did it well but it was the owner of the salon who did it, so possibly why. It was quite a dull damp day and as soon as I came out it was raining and I had parked the other end of the town!

I have bought all the Christmas presents for the twins and decided to wrap them today as predicted I became really upset doing it which was why I didn’t want to leave it until too near Christmas. I won’t post the box yet but at least it is all done. It makes me wonder whether they even receive the presents as we never get thank you notes or anything at all. Torin taught them to always send thank you notes. One day they will learn the truth that we have been stopped seeing them. I take photos of everything we send them (for future reference in case they are not allowed the things we send. ) I do believe  karma will take care of her.

In the evening we went to see “Show of Hands”. We saw them a couple of years ago with Miranda Sykes. She has just given birth and so they now have Cormac Byrnes with them. As they said they have no genre and some of their music was completely mesmerising. A really new show, unlike the last one we saw. Even some bhangra in it!

It was so good I could have sat there for a few more hours!

We took Ellie for her walk and then drove to Deal as I am having my hair coloured tomorrow so I had to go for a patch test. Meanwhile Mal went to post our cards and presents to go abroad. That’s those done.

On the way back to the car we decided to call into Nationwide to see what they had to say about the identical amount being taken from my account for the petrol I purchased at Sainsbury last week. I contacted Nationwide online but heard nothing. The Manager couldn’t find anything on his system that they had replied so he said he would look, even though this couldn’t happen. Half an hour later he agreed, it shouldn’t happen but it had but he couldn’t find out how. He called their Head office.  It seems one was taken by contactless and the other by chip and pin. Again he said this was impossible.  Finally head office decided this was Sainsbury’s system that was at fault so we needed to contact them. BEWARE using your cards and paying at the pump.

Mal then contacted Sainsburys and they said if he takes a screen shot of my account in then they will refund one amount!! I seriously wonder how many other people this has happened to and how many never bother to check their accounts. I don’t check that often.

I then dropped Mal back home and on to Westwood for my weekly lunch meet with Rhys. We went to the Hooden Horse again as it was nice last week.  Tuesday is “Big Plate Special ” day and they have all their “large dish” menus for £6!! Rhys chose the gammon and that was 15 ounces of gammon!  I think Rhys enjoyed it.

We then went for a walk around Westwood to walk our lunch off. We looked at Christmas trees and vinyl flooring , possibly for our bathroom.

My day at Demelza and we had a busier day than last week, thank goodness.  Demelza has now made a TV advert, I saw it for the first time this evening.

It is 23 years ago today that Mal and I met. I said that a lot of water has gone under the bridge since then and jokingly he said more like a tsunami! When I think back we have had a few trials. That’s life, at least we are both healthy and that really is something to be thankful for.

We went to Lou and Rhys’s for a lovely Sunday lunch roast.  We thought of going for a walk but it looked very miserable out, so in the end we didn’t.

I happened to check my banking online. There is a lot of money going out at the moment with all the Christmas presents. A good thing that I checked. I bought petrol at Sainsburys on Friday and they have taken the payment out twice.   I will have to check my account more often! I am now waiting to hear from Nationwide.

I listen to the 60’s show on the radio in the morning. It is 50 years since the Beatles ‘White Album’ was released. I am feeling old. It was quite amusing that when Mal and I got together and combined our record collections, the White Album was one that we both had.

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay, one particular part of the beach had a lot of seaweed which obviously she rolled in. There were also a lot of cockles on the sands. We are used to seeing oyster shells but it’s not very often we see cockles.

We met a couple down there who recognised Ellie from our last house! She used to sit and watch all the dogs go by. They said they miss her now.

We called at a Stonemason on the way home to discuss Torin’s head stone, they were shut even though they are supposed to be open all day Saturday!

We have both now become addicted to “I’m a celebrity”.
