These two photos came up on my Facebook today , taken 3 years ago, Torin with Rhys. It was when we first came back from Cyprus. It makes me feel sad as tonight we were supposed to be staying at Torin’s house.

Instead, Mal being as thoughtful as ever he booked us into a hotel. So we left Ellie with Lou and Rhys and drove to Great Hallingbury Manor. We checked in and the receptionist suggested that we go for a walk around the lake, which we did but it was freezing cold and half the lake was still frozen. 

A lovely hotel and the room was so nice and warm on our return from the walk, the only thing was we were fairly near to Stansted so the planes were very low!!

We ate in the hotel in the evening and very good it was too. Mal said it was the best and biggest lamb shank he had eaten! Compliment indeed. 

The hotel looked very nice in the evening.

A very emotional night, I guess there will be so many, for so many reasons. Tonight we were due to spend with Torin.

We walked Ellie around the orchards. They are grubbing some of the old apple trees.

We sold a few things on Ebay, mainly books we brought back from Cyprus so took them to the Hermes agent.

Mal chopped more wood for the fire as the log burner throws out so much heat and the house feels very cozy. Mal wasn’t happy with the Hammers result. They lost 4-0!!

Lou has decided she is going to run the Brighton Marathon next April, to raise money for Headway in Torin’s memory. Rhys is going to train her as she has never run a marathon before. What a girl!

We went to view a house in Pegwell Bay, neither of us liked it. We then went on to Sandwich to view the one there. We both liked that one, it was the one we had looked around the area for last week and it just felt right. We put in an offer straight away. Someone else was going for a second viewing and two more people were following us. I am afraid even though we would like it we are not going to stress over it as we have enough going on already. What will be will be. 

Ellie still had her very long walk.

A quiet day at Demelza, we didn’t take that much money. Maybe everyone was at home on their computers buying for Cyber Monday. The shop is starting to look a lot like Christmas!

As usual on a Monday Mal had dinner ready when I arrived home.

The sun was out first thing again so we had a lovely walk. It was cold again.

We then went to view a property in Minster. Very nice but very overpriced seeing as you had to go through the second bedroom to get to the only bathroom and there looked as though there was also a right of way across the garden as there were gates both sides. We asked the estate agent if it was a right of way. “Dunno” was the reply! Helpful. 

Lunch was at Lou and Rhys’s, a lovely roast. We had a good  afternoon/evening.

It was so nice we decided to take Ellie to Minnis Bay. A good thing we remembered hats, scarves and gloves but it was still a very cold wind.

We had the log burner alight all day, it was so cosy. 

I know it’s early but we watched a couple of Christmas films in the afternoon as we were feeling very lazy.

I went to get the shopping very early so that I didn’t get caught up with the “Black Friday” madness.

Later we went through more houses online and so far have no appointments for the ones that we have called the agents about! They can’t be in much of a rush to sell. Mal spent some of the afternoon sawing the wood we collected yesterday.

The log burner was really warm in the evening.
