Saturday 28th December 2024

We had Josie’s birthday presents all ready and so headed for Faversham. We stopped at Reculver on the way to give Ellie a walk. It was freezing and foggy, not a nice walk.

Then on to Faversham and we walked round from their house to Spoons. We took Josie and Oscar out for lunch , everyone else was working! It was so noisy in there we couldn’t hear each other talk so as soon as we ate the meal we relocated to Grain and Hearth Bakery for cakes!

I can’t  believe Josie is 15, it seems like yesterday.

Friday 27th December 2024

A foggy morning and we took Ellie to Ramsgate park. She met loads of other dogs that she played with and finally rolled in all the wet, muddy leaves, so an ideal walk in her eyes!

We went into Aldi on the way back as we knew their rather nice sparkling wine, ‘Cremant de Loire’ usually £10 had been reduced to £4.99. Obviously we bought a few bottles!

We have started watching Gavin and Stacey right from the beginning!

Thursday 26th December 2024

We went into Deal, as I had been racking my brains what to buy Josie for a birthday present, also December! Lou suggested books and then Mal suggested an e reader and he would download all the books! Brilliant which was why we went to Deal to buy it.

While we were there we took Ellie for a walk along the sea front and I also called into Boots for some half price beauty items (future Birthday presents!) A productive morning. Then back home to a grazing table and a chill out. Well it would have been had we not chosen to watch Spurs (lost) instead of Hammers who won!

Oscar is hoping to join the navy (interview/medical etc in January) so for his after dinner present on Christmas day I bought him a book , “The Complete Guide to Knots and knot tying” and a piece of rope. I believe it was the most successful present of Christmas 2024!! He was fascinated Christmas day and Lou sent me this photo this afternoon, he is still tying knots!

In the evening we sat down with a nice glass of champagne and watched Gavin and Stacey!

A VERY HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OUR READERS

Ellie opening her Christmas presents!

We had the best Christmas day at Lou and Rhys’s along with Maddie and Rive, Ollie, Oscar and Josie too of course.. The food was so very good and obviously took a lot of hard work on Ollie’s and Lou’s part. It was so good. A huge lunch and then Josie, Oscar, Mal and I took the dogs out for a walk while the others did all the clearing away/washing up. We then had after dinner stockings, followed by games.

I phoned my sister in the morning and she was in bed with a really bad chest infection, poor thing.

Sunday 22nd December 2024

Out with Ellie early. It was cold and windy but the sun was out. I don’t mind these days, it is the wet, miserable days I can’t stand.

Wingham Farm Shop on the way home, lots of lovely Jazz apples and a few more things.

When we arrived home Mal was amusing himself watching the flight patterns for the airlines trying to land in Madeira!! 27 flights were cancelled yesterday because of the cross winds. This is quite a regular occurrence and we have been so lucky it hasn’t happened to us ….yet!

I put one of the Tesco half price beef joints in the slow cooker and it was delicious.
