Mal sorted out his hundreds of parcels ready for collection. I went into Ramsgate. Westwood may have all the big stores but the interesting little ones are in Ramsgate, sadly too many have closed down in Margate.

In the afternoon we went to see Pauline and Chris. Chris’s hand is healing nicely following his operation. From there we went on to Rhys and Lou’s and we all had fish and chips together and said our goodbyes as we will be travelling back to Cyprus.

We weren’t surprised that Scarlet and Jack had a long lie in after their late night with their cousins.

We had breakfast and then they had to leave as Torin had to get back for a meeting in the afternoon.

I felt as though I haven’t stopped since I got off the plane, sooo tired.

More rain in the afternoon. I know we will be wishing for this in a couple of days. back in Cyprus!!

We had to go and do some shopping and in the evening Roy, Fred and Darren’s leaving do. The owners of our caravan park have now sold it and are leaving tomorrow, very sudden. We think they sold it for about £10million. But we have known them for 10 years, lovely people and when we went to their leaving do, all the food and drink was on them. It was really sad saying goodbye as it was the end of an era.

Scarlet and Jack didn’t wake up until quite late after their late night arrival. We went to the shops and the butchers in Birchington, who does the most amazing BBQ packs. We picked up two huge ones Rhys had ordered and then drove over to his. He did warn us that rain was forecast but the skies were blue in the morning and rain has never stopped us before! Sure enough Rhys was about half way through the cooking when the heavens opened. Tariq, as usual, was in charge of sorting umbrellas out.

 

 

Well, I think all the meat Rhys ordered, we were feeding the 5,000! I also made some salads and deserts and took them over. “The boys” had a very competitive game of darts!
It was really nice having all the kids together and so we didn’t leave until 11.00pm!

I woke up with a bit of a headache (self inflicted from the night before) and swore I would never drink again. Ha ha. We went into breakfast right at the start at 8am. Three people were sitting at tables but just waiting. It seemed half the staff had called in sick and so there was just one poor guy trying to sort everything out on his own. By 8.30, the bain marie had food in it and we were shown where to “help ourselves” to coffee. Well, a touch of the Fawlty Towers again, which set us all off laughing again. You have to give them 10 out of 10 for entertainment! We finally ate , back to our room, packed and handed the key into reception. It seems no one was bothered whether we had enjoyed our stay or not.

We had a nice drive through the villages on the way back. Later I went to Westwood to get some shopping. I can’t seem to find any sandals that I like and I need a new pair.

In the evening we had booked a Groupon deal for a 5 course taster meal at the Minnis, Minnis Bay. The price of these deals are crazy. This one was £22 for two. It was a lot of fish, delicious but far too much!! The Minnis looks right out over the sea. It was good.

I was awake at 4.00am! I’m going to be tired today.

News on the Water Pipeline from Turkey. All I know is we are going to have a very dry summer as we have not had enough rain in the winter months and water is already being rationed.

I had breakfast with Torin, he started work and I drove to the caravan, a long journey with hold ups on the M25. I put my suitcase down, packed another and off Mal and I went to Deal for a walk round and lunch.  From there we had another Living Social deal for the Blazing Donkey where we stayed before Christmas. The deal was £69,for both of us and that included bed, breakfast and three course evening meal!! The prices in the restaurant, that was the cost of just the dinner. I have to admit the food wasn’t quite as good as before but how can you complain for that price? There was a shortage of staff which just meant while we were all waiting, we sat chatting to all the other residents! None of us were in a rush. The only consequence of waiting was the amount of alcohol we consumed!

I was up at 4am as I was going to the UK for a couple of days and then coming back with Mal. David collected us and Ellie came with us to the airport. Ellie is having her holiday with Jekka and Loppi!

Ercan airport is being altered and great news (NOT!!) they are going to be opening a Burger King there!

Well, it didn’t say anything about delays and we boarded the Pegasus flight on time. Then we sat there and sat there….for an hour!! A great start. I always find their planes are too hot, so it really was good sitting on the plane for an extra hour. I HATE that journey and I am so fed up with Pegasus staff. Every journey people are saying how rude and miserable they are. Today was no exception. Another lady and myself were waiting to get back to our seats after going to the toilet. Three times we asked the air hostess if we could pass her trolley, she totally ignored us. Just downright rude. My sister said exactly the same. They certainly haven’t been to charm school.

Torin was flying back from Holland, so I bought some food and cooked us a meal ready for when he arrived back. Torin’s memory since his accident is not at all good. He left his case in one of his colleagues cars! He didn’t realise until he arrived at the airport.No problem another of his colleagues is coming to the UK next week! He does get frustrated by it though.

The temperature is on the rise again. The forecast says it will be 40 degrees by the weekend.

The French air traffic controllers are on strike for 6 days. There have already been some European flights cancelled. Torin is in Holland but doesn’t fly back over France, so he should get home OK but I can imagine this will cause some chaos.

Wow, the power of the press. Water started trickling into our tank, after a lot of spluttering getting the air out of the pipe…yippee! Yes, I now have water again!
