No rain, no snow and so we decided to catch the bus into Margate. We did have a walk along the sea front but it was very windy. Margate’s main town centre is similar to many other town centres, empty shops, closed down and all looking very tired but around the back turnings there are some interesting shops. It’s surprising what you find out when we have both lived in this area for such a long time and we didn’t know Eric Morecombe had his wedding reception in one of the pubs. We are convinced it is a new sign erected by Thanet Council….”places of interest”??!

Also more Eastern Europeans moving into the area…….spot the spelling mistake for the Baltic Branch Restaurant!! We’ll have to give it a try when it does open.

Mal and I were both still suffering with colds and as the sun was out, decided to go out for a walk. We went across the fields and one thing Thanet is famous for is its cauliflowers.

By the time we arrived back at the caravan we were both exhausted.

Bargains – Brantano Footwear 20% off everything online & 48 hour Hotel room sale & Kindle Fire HD Case £6.99 & 3 piece copper bottom pan set £38 & 20% off at M&S

The weather is 15 degrees warmer than this time last week! Tonight’s temperature is set to be higher than in Girne.

I’m not sure where Mal and I caught our bugs but we both have coughs and runny noses. As I seemed to be the fittest (of course Mal’s is “man flu”) I walked to Westwood to buy some more cough medicine. I have to say I was exhausted when I got back and ached all over.

Early evening our neighbour John popped in, he is going to share our internet and while we are away he will look after our caravan. Nice fella. He even said that if we come back in the winter, he will warm the caravan up for us.

We were up and out early as we had to refuel the car and be at Manston airport for 9am and then walked back and the sun was out.

I heard from Torin and he has been called for a second interview, so I am keeping everything crossed for him.

The wind was really strong in the afternoon, it’s rather noisy in a caravan!

Happy Birthday to our lovely daughter in law Lou!

In spite of Scarlet and Jack having a late night, they were up early. Torin, the twins and I went to church. Torin goes to a Baptist church and I have to say I was impressed how friendly all the people were there and there were so many people there.

Mal and I drove back to the caravan mid afternoon. Although the snow had gone, it rained and also hail stones on the way back.

Bargains – British Airways sale & 4 Pack Hi ball glasses £3 & Stainless steel 20cm Steamer  £22.50 & Goose Feather and down duvet £39

At last the weather was warming up and Mal and I took Scarlet and Jack for a walk and snow ball fights! Scarlet insisted on going out in her ‘princess dress’ and it was soaked by the time we arrived back!  In the evening we watched the ‘Transylvania Hotel’ with the kids. Jack wasn’t too keen to start with until the scary bits finished!

I am a “Preferred” customer with Avis cars which brings all sorts of benefits including a free weekends car hire, so we booked it for this weekend and went to Torin’s. We arrived in the afternoon and I cooked a roast as Torin had a bad week travelling around in the snow. Also this morning he had an interview for a much better job. I do hope he gets it as it is more the sort of job he was doing before he was made redundant.

We then sat and watched one of the “Lord of the Rings”. Torin and I had a great laugh as he was watching me making “roll ups”. I just can’t pay UK prices for cigarettes and it is years since I attempted roll ups. My attempts were not what they used to be.
