We went off to Margate quite early to deliver Dominic’s birthday present. His birthday is Monday but he is working and then out in the evening. From there we took Ellie on to Stone Bay. It was a little dull but warm enough. She does love her beach runs and swims.

We watched the Hammers game. What a shambles with fans protesting against the board and running on the pitch and oh dear, they lost too.

I went shopping so Mal took Ellie as I left early. I do hate battling around the shops when it is busy. M&S are doing their £10 meal deal, so I had to get that!

In the evening I went to see Magic of Motown with the Red Hatters. There were only four of us as it had been postponed from last weeks bad weather and the others couldn’t make it. It was a great show with very talented singers and dancers. Well worth waiting for.

We drove to Minster with Ellie and walked her around the countryside and then on to the vets. Mal’s friend Keith was the one we saw. He gave Ellie her booster and also weighed her and checked her all over. £36.50 for the booster, I’m sure that has gone up!  The only thing he said was when/if we get some sun, to put sun cream on her nose as it is very pale. A little weird that when we were in the Crispin Arms last week, one of the customers who was making a fuss of her told us to give her parsley and it would darken her nose! I can’t say I have ever really thought about it before.

We took Ellie before the rain started and then went shopping for paint. We bought some in the Range, Dulux Easycare for one bedroom (25% off) but we are not sure about the other rooms so bought some tester pots which they had reduced to 10p each!

Next Mal wanted some Leyland white paint for the ceilings. We knew they had it in Screwfix Broadstairs but tried Wickes before we made the drive over there. They had it but it was £8 more expensive, So Mal dumped their shopping basket but took it by mistake through the second door and the alarm went off. Immediately an assistant came out to him…..by this time I was half way back to the car. He explained to the assistant that he hadn’t bought anything because the Leyland  paint was far more expensive than Screwfix and had taken the basket through that door by accident.  So the assistant told him that Wickes had a price promise so he could have it at the Screwfix price!! We never knew that before. We’ll be going there more often. We have plenty more paint to buy. After all that excitement we came home!!

We bought a voucher from Travelzoo for Wildwood Trust near Herne Bay and the expiry date was the end of March, so we thought we had better use it because next week we will be busy (moving/painting etc). I know it was only £10 for us both but we thought it was quite disappointing. I think we have been spoilt by Howletts! There were caged birds there that we see in our garden. I guess the best animals were the two rescued brown bears. They even had ants,rabbits, rats and bees there!!

Demelza day and not as busy as last Monday but we found plenty to do. 

Mal had dinner ready when I arrived home.

I had an email from David saying that it has been the best winter in north Cyprus since they have lived there. I would still much rather be exactly where I am.

The sun was out for our walk and the lake is even starting to thaw!

We gave our notice in to the “Lady of the Manor”, She said that was sad. I guess it is for her as we always pay our rent, aren’t any trouble unlike her last tenant who did a runner leaving loads of debts. At least she knows now and we have until 4th April to move out.
Lou, Rhys and the littlies came round for lunch. As usual I cooked far too much and everyone was very full. They took some of the apple crumble home. I think I’ll have to start packing up all the serving dishes now.
