A nice muddy walk and Ellie decided to bathe in a puddle!
It looks as though Kent is increasing in popularity.
Later in the morning Torin, Lisa, Scarlet and Jack arrived. We went for a very long walk in the afternoon and everyone and three dogs were muddy! A good thing we have a long tiled hallway from the back door!

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay as we haven’t been to the sea for a while because of the toxic palm oil. We believe it has all gone now but every time Ellie stopped we shouted “leave it” just in case. She was good and wasn’t even particularly interested in the huge jellyfish that were scattered all over the beach. Her ball and running in and out of the water were far more important.
Apart from the jellyfish, so many shells on the beach.
In the afternoon I went to Westwood. Last time I was there I bought Jack a hoody but couldn’t find a nice one for Scarlet and I can’t get one without the other. Well, I went everywhere and this new season they were yukky colours like ochre or salmon pink. In the end I found one in Next. If only I had gone in their first. Do they really think 7 year old girls like these appalling colours? Scarlet likes pink and purple, girley colours!

We had a muddy walk over the fields But we love it! Perhaps it’s all those years in Cyprus without rain. Ellie certainly prefers the cooler weather in the UK
I sorted out some more things and stored them in the loft. Mal started his potting in the potting shed. Ellie sat outside the door. I wonder at some stage in her early life if she has been locked in somewhere as she hates enclosed spaces and wouldn’t go and join Mal in the shed. It’s a hug shed.

Mal decided he would go to Wingham allotment and so I said I would take Ellie for a long walk cross the orchards. We played ball in Elgar’s field first and then went walking. Mal dug some more and put some compost on one patch. I got about half way through the walk and it started raining. I had the cat keys so turned to go back. I thought Mal would be a bit concerned as there is no cover but he wasn’t, he just carried on digging in the rain.
I went to Westwood Cross to collect an order from Wilko. I think I just got out of there in time before the Police arrived to explore the unexploded bombs!

We didn’t bother driving anywhere for our walk. Instead we went to the wood down the end of our road and then across the fields.Yes, it was muddy but at least Ellie kept out of the stream.
Mal and I then went into Canterbury. Some of Ellie’s toys are wearing out, nylabones that are too chewed for her to keep and also a huge rope. She loves the massive ones and they last her ages. So some new toys for her and a lot of fish for us. I have to say I prefer fish to eating meat.

Oh dear another morning in the stream! It wouldn’t be so bad but she always blows bubbles in the water, which is why her head is so muddy!
She did smell so straight in the shower when we were home. She did enjoy seeing the cows too.
I haven’t been to Sainsburys for a long time which is obviously why last week they sent me a lot of vouchers, so I used some of them today. I filled up with petrol, now 99.9p a litre and diesel is even cheaper.

Very sad to hear that the Chief TOG , Terry Wogan, has passed away. I listened to him on the radio for years as I drove to work and then always listened when in Cyprus. It’s quite frightening all these people not so many years older than us are passing. A reminder to be thankful we are still here.
We spent an hour today taking part in the Big Garden Birdwatch. You don’t need the paperwork, it can all be done online. We did spend some time yesterday watching the birds on our feeder and were quite amazed at how many there were. They are very plump birds who aren’t lacking food because of the mild winter. It also surprises us to see so many Rose Ringed Parakeets by Sandwich Quay. They are so noisy.
Next we watched Djokovic beat Andy Murray. Enough said. We hadn’t walked Ellie and by the time that had finished, it was drizzling. We should have gone earlier as we usually do. We walked around the orchards in Wingham.
We have booked a holiday in the Isle of Wight, part of our seeing more of the UK. We also booked a B&B half way to Portsmouth on the way there. Today we saw a hotel in Lewes on Groupon with breakfast and a 3 course meal included for £79 but today there is 10% off, so we have managed to book that for a break on the way back. There are so many bargains if you look for them (I put some on each day at the top of the page and of course we have to try them out!)
Football in the afternoon. I have to sat I felt a little sorry for MK Dons. Chelsea beat them 5-1.
