Maybe we took a slight risk (who knows what the rules are any more??!) but decided to have a seaside walk as our exercise and popped in a supermarket while we were out, two birds as they say. It was such a lovely day and the sun was out.

In the afternoon we watched Spurs, a good result 3-1.

Later that was followed by Man Utd. A good result, they drew!

We haven’t watched “The Crown” and so decided to start right from the beginning. That will keep us occupied…4 series.

We woke up to snow but it hardly settled. I know Rhys was out running in it at 6am as he sent me this.

We took Ellie out and it was freezing and of course she was soaking. I ordered something from John Lewis and they can deliver it to the Co-op in Sandwich so that is really handy and it was there by the following morning. We went and collected it. More reliable than the post at the moment.

I made french onion soup for lunch, nice and warming.

We watched the Hammers win in the afternoon!

In the evening I cooked Nisha Katona’s ‘curry in a hurry’, a little hot but very tasty. I think one less chilli next time! I think this is what we are all down to at the moment, nothing to talk about because we are not going anywhere!

A dry walk with Ellie. Someone had fallen over at the level crossing and was lying on the ground. Others were helping but I can’t imagine how long it would take for an ambulance to arrive.

In the afternoon we went to the allotment to take the seed potatoes down to leave in the shed. Some of my rhubarb has started sprouting.

We also went to Mal’s allotment , parts of which are flooded!

We have grown some really lovely kale, tastier than I have ever had before, so we will have to grow that again and I also managed to find some kalettes seeds. I bought them at Wilko along with all the seed potatoes. Kalettes are a hybrid  of  kale and sprouts. They sound interesting.

Very wet and windy. Mal took Ellie while I went to get some early seed potatoes.

My front tooth is now hanging lower than the others. It is difficult to eat and even talk now. I know I have no chance of hearing from Maxillofacial in the near future, so I have made an appointment at my dentist, for next week. Of course Penny has left and her replacement is the dentist who dealt with my emergency and he didn’t seem to know what he was doing so I have booked with Yasmin. Who knows what she will be like!

It is difficult to find decent TV programmes to watch but we have been enjoying Rick Stein’s Cornwall.

We walked Ellie and I think the cold and damp is getting to her legs a little. She lies down after her walks and then limps a little when she gets up. We are giving her Green lip muscle.

Rhys kindly stripped all our doors and repainted them over the summer. He took them off one by one and took them home. Loads of coats of old paint covered them which he had to get off. Mal has now decided to strip the bannisters back to the wood, so has started doing that.

In the evening we watched the Spurs game. Rather disappointing, only a draw, they should have done better!

It wasn’t as cold for our walk with Ellie. We were going to Archer’s Low , our local nursery , to buy some seed potatoes but we rang them first and they won’t be in until next week. I hope they won’t be closed down before then as we need them at the allotment.

Mal put the curtain back which I had shortened. Typical, the fancy bit fell off the end of the pole and the screw went inside and difficult to get out again. Nothing ever seems to be easy!

‘Winter Watch’ is starting a week today, something to look forward to.

In the evening we watched the Man u game which has put them at the top of the league.
