A very cold walk with Ellie. At least we didn’t have snow as a lot of other parts of the country had.

We watched Luton Town play Chelsea. I have to say Luton Town played well but sadly didn’t win and are out of the FA. I used to take Rhys to Luton Town home games, way back when! Happy days. My ex left when the boys were very young and so I was both mum and dad to them, so they were the days when my real interest in football started and I enjoyed it.

A very good game later with Man U and Liverpool. Man U won and play Hammers next.

I ordered some chicken breasts from the butchers in Birchington and had to collect them. One of his special offers 5kg for £16!! We took Ellie with us so she could have a run on the beach.

What a coincidence, we bumped into Lou, Rhys and the kids. We did the low sea walk away from people as there were Police in Minnis watching everyone!!! Oh my goodness this really has become crazy. Lou and Rhys haven’t been anywhere and nor have we. It was a 2 hour walk in the end, lovely seeing all the sea birds away from the crowd AND having someone different to talk to!

Mal does look a little like a blind man with a stick! It was in fact Ellie’s lead and his tinted glasses. The optician advised him to wear them more often to protect from UV rays. It evidently slows down the onset of cataracts!

We watched the Man City game. Cheltenham played so well, a shame they didn’t win! Another episode of ‘The Serpent.’ It is very good.

My mouth wasn’t too bad considering.

We wanted a change from our daily Sandwich walk and so today we walked from Walmer to Kingsdown. Such a lovely day with the sun out. We met someone else from Sandwich who felt exactly the same and she was frightened she may have gone too far. Bless her, her husband is wheelchair bound and she tries to find flat paths to take him and the dog.

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon for a bit more weeding of the future flower beds.

In the evening I watched ‘The Serpent’, of course, after ‘Winterwatch’.

My early morning appointment with the dentist. She took the top lot of impressions and pushed really hard, ouch! When it had set she pulled it out and my loose tooth went with it. I guess it saves on the anaesthetic that she was going to use in 2 weeks time! I’ll just have to keep wearing my mask to cover the gap!

In the afternoon we both had long overdue appointments at the optician…….what an exciting day! My prescription needed updating, as I knew and I now have to wear varifocals.  The joys of getting old!

So much for the vaccine, it appears in Sandwich we are about three weeks behind! 

I know it is not the production plant but rather ironic that Pfizer is based in Sandwich and we are the ones not getting it!

We walked Ellie and distance chatted with one of our neighbours Jeanette. She has a small dog and told us that she will be having an operation soon and then will have to isolate for 10 days and won’t be able to walk her dog. We will have to investigate to see if we can take the dog by using one of our leads possibly. It all gets complicated!

My dental appointment and I saw a new dentist as mine has now retired. She seems young, efficient and enthusiastic, hopefully! She is going to chase maxillofacial at the hospital again and also made two appointments, for a replacement and extraction for the tooth, starting on Thursday.

Hammers played in the evening and are now 7th in the table.

A nice walk with Ellie and chatted to our next door neighbour (at distance). Her husband, an electrician, is isolating because he was “near” another builder who now has Covid (track and trace). That all seems a little strange as she had just dropped her daughter off at nursery. I just don’t understand that. Also our neighbours opposite both have Covid but they did have people round at Christmas!

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon after doing a bit more stripping the wood on the stairs.
