We took Ellie to Minnis Bay. It wasn’t too cold but so windy! The sand was blowing into our eyes but Ellie enjoyed herself as always. I have to say there weren’t many dog walkers today, I guess the weather put them off.

We watched the Spur game…..Chelsea beat them. Torin would have enjoyed that!

After lunch we went to the allotment. I think Ellie was worn out from the morning!

Mal took Ellie out and I went into Deal to get the shopping. At least in Deal they have the greengrocers to buy local vegetables instead of at Westwood it is just the supermarkets. I buy a lot of local apples so we can have them in a crumble on Sundays. I also look around the charity shops and today found a total bargain. A brand new M&S jacket, with the label still in it. Originally £55 and I got it for £10. Since working in Demelza I have become a bit of a charity shop addict! It just goes to show people buy far too many “things” but at least we are thankful at Demelza when they donate so much.

A boy I went to school with posted a 1965 photo on Facebook. It was a concert, the first in the new Pavilion in Hemel Hempstead. I was there and even met the band….Pinkerton’s Assorted Colours! Now that was a blast from the past! My friend and I would have been pressed up against the stage!

I do feel old now!

We had a windy walk with Ellie in the drizzle.

I met up with the Red Hatter girls in the afternoon and we went to the Theatre Royal Margate for the annual Police Panto. We go every year and they always give us a mention and come and talk to us in the interval. Today’s panto was the Wizard from Auss.

The local police put the production on each year and all the money raised goes to charity. They only have 4 performances, so are frequently forgetting their lines but of course that adds to the comedy value.

Down to the park for the dog walk and of course, the kids had their Unicones on the way home. They must be mad, it was cold.

The morning was spent working on Grandad’s allotment,it seems to have been left behind since gaining my one and the kids each have a patch there too. Here’s Josie with a handful of leeks for dinner.

I bought Chinese checkers from the shop on Monday and the kids love it so they had another game while I cooked dinner. This time it was dinner for all of us as Lou and Rhys were coming to collect the kids. They had a good time and Lou mentioned to the hotel it was a belated Valentine break away and so they had red roses on their breakfast table and red heart shaped serviettes, that was nice. But the restaurant that they wanted to visit the previous evening was closed on Tuesdays…. typical!

We took Ellie and then shortly afterwards Lou and Rhys arrived with the kiddlies. They were staying with us while mum and dad had a belated Valentine night away. So of course, we were off to the allotment with Ollie, Oscar and Josie.

They worked really hard, back for lunch and then back to the allotment again in the afternoon.

We all worked hard and got a lot done. Back home and a walk for Roddie and Ellie followed by dinner. The kids then started painting their signs for their vegetables which they are doing on stones.

A busy day!

Demelza for the day and we were much busier. All the games are half price so I bought a couple for when the kids stay.

Another very wet day but the wind wasn’t so bad but no way could we go to the allotment. Lou came round with Ollie, Oscar and Josie and I cooked a roast and I always send a plate home for Rhys as he is working. I also cook liver and bacon and send that back for him as he loves it.

It rained and rained!
