Mal took Ellie out and I went into Deal to get the shopping. At least in Deal they have the greengrocers to buy local vegetables instead of at Westwood it is just the supermarkets. I buy a lot of local apples so we can have them in a crumble on Sundays. I also look around the charity shops and today found a total bargain. A brand new M&S jacket, with the label still in it. Originally £55 and I got it for £10. Since working in Demelza I have become a bit of a charity shop addict! It just goes to show people buy far too many “things” but at least we are thankful at Demelza when they donate so much.
A boy I went to school with posted a 1965 photo on Facebook. It was a concert, the first in the new Pavilion in Hemel Hempstead. I was there and even met the band….Pinkerton’s Assorted Colours! Now that was a blast from the past! My friend and I would have been pressed up against the stage!
I do feel old now!
