Mal continued sorting the photo book. As he said why don’t they just let you do what you want?! He has endless patience, which is why he is doing it and not me! He put them all in order and for some reason, they shuffled them all up. However he completed it in the end.

Lunchtime I drove to the station to pick my sister up as she has come to stay for a few days.

I wanted to watch the Spurs game in the evening but Marion made it very plain she doesn’t like football, so we didn’t put it on. Spurs won!

Another beautiful day but we really didn’t feel like battling with the tourists for the sea, so instead we went for a lovely walk in Willow Woods. It was nice to see the bluebells, cyclamen and all the other flowers in bloom.

The afternoon was spent making a photo album for another grandchild’s birthday! It takes so long trawling through 21 years of photos!

We took Ellie out and then prepared things for the Easter BBQ. We thought there would be 13 but Millie was working so there were just 12 of us. It is lovely having so much family around. I just get a little sad that we have been prevented from seeing Torin’s twins. Those poor children, I have no idea what their mother is thinking to be so cruel. I had sent them an Easter box but of course we never know if she even lets the twins see it. How very sad.

So, we had a noisy BBQ but we seem to have very good understanding neighbours, especially when we have Chas and Dave blasting out!

I was up very early and drove to the butchers in Birchington to buy meat for the BBQ the following day. This butcher has a loyalty deal, you get a stamp on your card for every £15 you spend, so he gave me the card with one stamp on it and I had spent £40! He then informed me that it had to be on separate visits! He is an arrogant man so I may be going to a different butchers next time. I should have bought one pack and then returned for the second one! A quick call in to Westwood for rolls and I also popped into Wilko and discovered that they are selling ALL their seed for half price. A quick phone call to Mal and I bought loads for him.

I watched Spurs v Man City, sadly this time they lost.

In the evening we went to the Gulbenkian at Kent Uni as we had tickets to see the Bar Steward Sons of Val Doonican. It was put on by Folk in the Barn and we go to a lot of their events. This one was awful. We were told they were very funny. They were so amateurish but obviously had some followers who thought they were hysterical. We didn’t and we left in the interval. Funnily enough just before the interval they told everyone to look to the left and then right and see who would be missing for the second half!! It seems obvious they have a lot of their audience leaving. That was a waste of the ticket money and a drive to Canterbury.

We took Ellie for her walk and then Mal and I went into Deal to buy a new BBQ. We decided that the one we have it is going to be difficult to cater for 13 on Sunday! We went into Spoons for our never ending coffee too! Mal put the BBQ together in the afternoon.  Lou, Rhys and co spent the day on the beach. I think a lot of the beaches around were busy. What lovely weather for Easter. We had already decided whatever the weather we would have a BBQ Easter Sunday.

Meanwhile, back in north Cyprus, they really are NOT having good weather. This is Girne this afternoon!

Now that does look cold! The world’s weather really has gone crazy.

What a beautiful warm day. We drove to Broadstairs to visit Mal’s sister and from there we took Ellie to Botany Bay. She loves running in and out of the sea and chasing her ball and then burying it in the sand! There was also a film crew down there, maybe filming another episode of “Vera”.

Driving back from the bay was a different story, the roads were packed, obviously everyone heading for the seaside for the Easter weekend. I don’t think we will be going far this weekend!

Rhys and Tariq kindly came back in the morning to resite all the white goods that had been moved. A good thing we had two strong men! Tariq has three weeks holiday from the Marines, couldn’t have been better timing.

I made a roast and a little later Lou arrived with Megan. Ollie, Oscar and Josie. It was such a nice day although we ate lunch in the conservatory, we all had dessert in the garden. It felt just like summer!

I cooked topside of beef and it was delicious and I also cooked liver,bacon and onions as everyone seems to love that too! Of course, for dessert, amongst other things was “Nanny’s trifle” . Megan said it is the best she has ever tasted, so just had to make it again for her! I think it must be all the Creme de Cassis I put in it!

In the evening we watched the best football match I have seen in a very long while. AND Spurs beat Man City and are through to the semi finals!
