Another very long walk with the three of us and the three dogs. I know that we are doing far more than 10,000 steps a day since we have been here. Torin who was feeling much better, having not been at all well, cooked us breakfast. Later Scarlet and Jack came round.

I managed to get one decent photo of the three dogs together.

We drove home after lunch, taking Torin’s two dogs with us as he is starting a new job on Monday and has to go to the North of England for his induction week.

We had only just arrived home when Tris, Violet, Gemma and Dom arrived. The latter two didn’t stay for too long but Tris and Violet stayed the night. It’s all go!!

BEWARE this morning….it is April Fool’s Day!! Perhaps the best one was an email from Petshop UK asking all its customers to check their parcels as their kitten had gone missing from the warehouse!!

We all went up to Rowney Warren for another very long walk. The dogs never tire out!

In the afternoon I went to the new shops on the edge of Biggleswade. Not easy as they have closed the High Street for bridge repairs and it has been that way for about three months. It means you have to go on the A1. Not the best place to be on a Friday afternoon! I did manage to find Ellie a raised dog bowl. She has trouble with reflux so I hope this will help her. I also bought flea collars for all three dogs as it’s that time of year again.

For anyone that is interested the results are out for the RSPB Big Garden Bird Watch. From watching the birds in our garden, no surprise there.

 Scarlet and Jack came round and we took them for lunch in Letchworth. We went to the Dragon King. The kids love it there.

It was such a nice day that later we all went for another long walk, this time to Jordan’s Mill.

At the end of the walk we sat next to the river for a coffee.

In the evening I cooked a really nice Thai meal, even if I do say so myself!

A lovely early morning walk in the sun.

Later we packed some things and went to Torin’s. We took all three dogs for a walk in the afternoon and what a change, it was really cold and pouring with rain!

We watched the England game in the evening. Not as good as their last one.

What a night with storm Katie. Everything outside was crashing and banging, really gale force winds and at 3am, there was something smashing. I went out and discovered two of the large shed windows had blown out. I managed to rescue one of them and keep it in one piece but the other smashed to pieces. Mal slept through it all!

Back to bed and later we had to clear up all the glass before Ellie could go out.

Our walk was round the orchards. There were a lot of fallen trees on the way. There is a part of our walk that is quite close to the wildlife park. Ellie was curious about the cheetah. I doubt she has ever seen one before! You can just about see it behind the wire.

After the storm it was a lovely walk.

We took Easter eggs round to Bletinge. Sol and River had already left for work for their part time jobs. They had so many eggs.

From there we drove up the road to Reculver Country Park for my last 10,000 steps. The walk is along the cliff tops and it was so windy and a very cold wind.

You can see Herne Bay in the distance, we almost walked there but there were council notices saying they had put rat poison down so we didn’t do the last bit. But on the way back we did go to the visitors centre which never seems to be open but was today. It’s quite interesting inside but we had to take it in turns as dogs aren’t allowed in there. Strange they are in the other Wildlife visitors centres.

It’s a custom with Rhys that Easter is always the first BBQ of the year. It doesn’t matter what the weather, even with storm Katie on the way and rain. We used to do this in Sevenscore before we went to Cyprus. This weekend was no exception.

We went over in the afternoon and Rhys had rigged up a temporary canopy with the aid of a ladder which was just as well because at times it was torrential rain. It didn’t dampen our spirits! In between there was a game of boules but they weren’t too impressed when Ellie took the balls to play with!

Later, we had a disco indoors and then a competition, who could pick up the cereal box with their teeth, without putting their hands on the floor and no kneeling because they had to stand up again with the box in their mouth. After each round, another inch was cut off the height of the box! It was fierce competition. Sol was the winner and Lou second! The picture of Lou was just before she toppled over!It’s surprising how much fun you can have for no money!!
Poor Tariq was at work and so missed out on it all.
