We took Easter eggs round to Bletinge. Sol and River had already left for work for their part time jobs. They had so many eggs.
From there we drove up the road to Reculver Country Park for my last 10,000 steps. The walk is along the cliff tops and it was so windy and a very cold wind.
You can see Herne Bay in the distance, we almost walked there but there were council notices saying they had put rat poison down so we didn’t do the last bit. But on the way back we did go to the visitors centre which never seems to be open but was today. It’s quite interesting inside but we had to take it in turns as dogs aren’t allowed in there. Strange they are in the other Wildlife visitors centres.
It’s a custom with Rhys that Easter is always the first BBQ of the year. It doesn’t matter what the weather, even with storm Katie on the way and rain. We used to do this in Sevenscore before we went to Cyprus. This weekend was no exception.
We went over in the afternoon and Rhys had rigged up a temporary canopy with the aid of a ladder which was just as well because at times it was torrential rain. It didn’t dampen our spirits! In between there was a game of boules but they weren’t too impressed when Ellie took the balls to play with!
Later, we had a disco indoors and then a competition, who could pick up the cereal box with their teeth, without putting their hands on the floor and no kneeling because they had to stand up again with the box in their mouth. After each round, another inch was cut off the height of the box! It was fierce competition. Sol was the winner and Lou second! The picture of Lou was just before she toppled over!It’s surprising how much fun you can have for no money!!
Poor Tariq was at work and so missed out on it all.
