We couldn’t believe it the hottest day of the week and the day Tris and Violet are flying home! Tris wanted to take a nice bottle of whisky back with him and so we took him to the Whisky and Wine Off Licence. Now surely that would be the best place…….

We went in and were told “We don’t sell whisky”. Silly us how could we be so mistaken?!

Violet all packed and ready to go to the airport and saying goodbye to the cats.

We stopped at Multimax on the way home and also bought Cyprus Today. Later I cleaned all the sand out of the car and then we watched the football, Hammers lost!

It rained overnight and the beginning of the morning.

It was Tris and Violet’s last day and so we asked Violet what she would like to do when the rain stopped. She said she would like to go to “the zoo” (Green Heights) so as soon as the rain stopped and the sun came out we drove up there. Again we had our lunch there. It’s very pleasant with classical music playing in the background.

In the evening we went to the 70’s night at The Black Olive. They had food in the basket and also a singer, who Violet thought sang too loudly and sat with her ears covered!

Home in Cyprus for Sale

A beach day. We drove to Rosy’s only to discover it was shut and so we moved along the beach to The Cabin. Violet was more than content all morning playing in the sand and running in the sea. We had lunch in The Cabin Restaurant and as usual an excellent meal.

Mal had downloaded the film Captain Phillips which we watched in the evening. We weren’t particularly impressed with it, perhaps because we knew the ending!

We had breakfast and then went to Green Heights Park.  We spent so long looking at the animals and Violet playing with the cats that we decided to stay there for lunch. It was lovely sitting next to the pool with classical music playing in the background. The food was surprisingly good and exceeded our expectations. It was a lovely day.

For the first time in a very long time, it rained! In between rain and the storm Violet and I played in the garden, planting seeds and doing all sorts of interesting things.

The Wireless Bird Box Camera (above) is a great Christmas present for nature/bird lovers!

Ollie’s 7th birthday today and so we phoned him first thing. They had a days holiday from school, last day of half term, so were going to the zoo for the day and having fireworks in the evening.

We went for a walk along Lapta walkway and then on to the Wild Duck. Violet loved it there with all the play things, climbing frames and paddling pool. We had lunch there, a bit of a disaster like last time. Tris asked if they had vegetarian meals, yes, they had vegetarian mousaka, which he ordered and paid for. Quite a time later they came out to tell us that they didn’t have any! He ended up having an omelette, there was no other choice. They have the most gorgeous golden retriever who escaped through the gate and came and sat with us, I was very tempted to bring her home!!! There were also several of our neighbours from Malatya in there.

We had a power cut in the evening which Violet found exciting.

We collected Tris and Violet and didn’t get back home until about 1.30 in the morning. Then of course, we had a snack to eat and a drink and a chat and so it was late  or rather early morning going to bed!

We were all up again by 9 and of course Violet wanted to go to the beach. We stopped off at Lemar first because they now have a Sunday market, which we imagined would be similar to the one at Bamboo Beach but it was very small. I have to say though, Dawn has a stall with some nice silver jewellery on it.

We went to The Cabin  and then discovered there were a lot of people on their part of the sands. Rosy’s Place is the part of the beach right next to it and was almost empty so instead we bought our drinks at Rosy’s and used their sunbeds and umbrellas and almost had the place to ourselves!

Back home and in the swimming pool.
