Mal has a cold and also cold sores on his face and seemed to snore his way through the night because of the cold. After being woken up twice I had to move into the spare room!
I woke to rain on the caravan roof, that doesn’t bode well for Rhys, Lou and crews camping trip here!
They arrived and pitched their tent and then we all went off to Toby Carvery for lunch. By this time the rain had stopped. Torin phoned and said he had decided to come down as well. It’s unusual to get them in the same place at the same time and was really nice for the cousins being together. It was a spur of the moment thing for Torin and it took him quite a long while to get here, a long queue at the Dartford Crossing and also “toilet stops” for Scarlet and Jack.
The camp site at St Nicholas at Wade was really good and they had a kids play area. We all had a lovely time with a perfect BBQ cooked by Rhys, I had to go and buy another BBQ as there was now more of us to eat. The kids loved it being together and Grandad seemed to be the one in charge of them. They all call him Silly Grandad. I think he missed his vocation as a childrens entertainer. It was really nice to have both my boys there. The BBQ and drinking went on until about 10.30 and the kids were still running around. I don’t know where they got their energy from. Eventually Scarlet, Jack and Torin came back to the caravan with us. A good thing I had cleared out the spare room! There was torrential rain during the night, such a shame when the weather has been so good all the time I have been here.
