Bargains – North Cyprus Holiday & Telescopic Ladder for £79.99 & Samsonite Wheeled Holdall for £34.99 & Half Price Oral B Electric Toothbrush

I hear it was a rainy day in Cyprus but not here in our area of Kent. In fact it was so nice, sunny and warm that Mal and I decided to go for a walk. We trudged over fields, bridleways, country lanes and went to Birchington, Quex Park and goodness knows where else. We saw all sorts of animals, the grumpy pig,the rest of the Kune Kune pigs, horses being shod by a farrier and much more.

It came to lunch time and when we arrived at a farm shop at 1.10, we decided to stop for some lunch in their cafe “Sorry we closed at 1.00”. So we continued and found another cafe at quarter to 2 and they shut at 1.30!! Does everyone have early lunch round here? We hadn’t even taken water with us as our walk was not intended to take as long as it did. In fact we walked non stop for four and a half hours. We were so tired when we got back and I guess we may have trouble moving tomorrow. Muscles we didn’t know we had, have already started to ache!

Well, Thanet certainly know how to deal with the dumping of rubbish…..

I am sure Alsancak Beledeysi would stop dumping rubbish in Malatya if this were in North Cyprus!

Bargains – Boys bike for £59.99 &  York Getaway £37 pp & Touchscreen Internet Tablet £99.99

My next trip to the doctors about the “thing” on my forehead. The doctor looked at it, removed more from the middle of it, prescribed me some ointment and said he wants me to go back in another 2 weeks to see what has happened and then he may have to refer me! Not much progress there then. I have been slightly concerned that it is skin cancer and Mal knows that, I arrived home and a big bouquet of flowers had been delivered…from Mal….bless him!

We then returned the hire car to Manston Airport. No one was there and we had been told “just pop the key in the box”, which we did. A nice walk back from the airport as the sun was out.

Bargains – National Express £4 and up fares & Boots 3 for 2 Christmas Offers & Friedland wire free door bell £22.50

Apologies our websites have been “down” but are back now!

A pretty miserable day weatherwise but we did manage to get more Christmas presents. We also went looking for cameras as the one I borrowed from Mal is playing up so he said I should get a new one. So, I chose a particular model of Panasonic Lumix, as they have Leica lenses and of course every shop we went into didn’t have the model I wanted. The buy of the day was a “Fix it” Kit in Tesco for £4.50. Mal was convinced we needed one for the caravan. I have to admit for the money it had loads of handy things in it. It kept him amused anyway.

In the evening we spoke to the boys in Cardiff.

Bargains – Metal Day Bed £79.99 & Laura Ashley 3 for 2 Christmas & Boots £5 off £40 fragrance

We went to Debbie and Dave’s for lunch and very good it was too with all the vegetables freshly dug!  Debbie runs Thanet Animal Group Pet Rescue  and had a little brindle dog that she had brought back to life from a skeleton. As you can see from the picture, he is very at home now following a lot of problems including wrecking the house! The photos aren’t very good as the flash failed on my camera.

We had a lovely time and good to see Debbie and Dave again. We came home with onions and home made jam!

A very contented dog now!

Bargains – Boots –  Boss Orange Evening Essentials HALF PRICE (this is the start of Boots STAR BUYS that they have leading up to Christmas, all are half price!) & Tesco Clothing up to 50% off & Premier Inn Central London rooms from £49.

It rained ALL night long and it was really pouring but come the morning the sun was out again! I don’t mind night time rain. But look what it left just as you come out of the caravan park. We had to walk on the fields to go to Manston to collect our next  hire car. Thankfully we didn’t get splashed!

This time we have a diesel Ford Focus, not too far to drive this rental and we have a far more comfortable car!

We went and bought 3 Christmas presents and then as it was such a lovely day we decided to drive to Deal and have a walk along the sands. Well, that was the plan until we arrived there and discovered that they are building new Sea Defences! So, we went on to the pier and watched the fishermen and then a wander round the shops. We both like Deal, it is such a quaint town.

A lot of rain last night!

A reminder Kulaksiz 5 will be in Girne court again next Wednesday 10th October

Well, it certainly rained a lot during the night! We caught the bus into Broadstairs and went to the Broadstairs Food Festival, funny that I always seemed to lose Mal around the real ale and cider tasting stalls! The sun came out and it was a lovely day. Manyhoots Owl rescue was there too.

From the festival we decided to walk up to the High Street and go into Marley’s for some lunch, supposed to be a light lunch after all our tastings but it was huge. Very nice though.

On the way there we  heard someone hammering on another restaurant window at us. It was Debbie, Mal’s sister, so we popped in to see her and she asked us over for Sunday lunch!

The rain returned in the evening.

Bargains – The Works 20% off all orders & Whittards 25% off Tea & best of all Avis Car Rental have their autumn sale on with 20% off worldwide.

I say this because at the moment I have booked a few cars with Avis and I am paying about £11 per day. I also picked the last one up at Stansted and took it back to Kent International and the extra charge was only £40. Other car  hire companies wanted an extortianate amount. It’s well worth taking a look and booking now if you need to hire in the next few months, remember Christmas is coming up!! I also have to say how charming the staff are. Having hired so many cars I can assure you this is a bit of a rarity!

It was a nice sunny day and so we walked to Westwood to look for ideas for Christmas presents. We have so many to buy so an early start needed. We did buy a Christmas cake and Christmas pudding in M&S.

In Sainsbury’s we discovered the “Jugit”. A good idea, a’ jug’ to put your milk in from the new (I presume) plastic bags of milk. If you buy 2 plastic bags of milk (4 pints in total) and a Jugit at the moment, the total cost is £1.98.
