Bargains – Blood Brothers show plus dinner for £33.50 & Dragon’s Den Laptop Briefcase £10.80

Today’s latest on Kulaksiz 5

We went for a long walk in between the showers and then tried to sort out an NHS dentist. Not many of them in Thanet that aren’t full but I have managed to make an appointment with one. There is promise of £4.5 million being spent on dentists for Eastern and Coastal Kent but I was told the contracts haven’t been signed yet and so the one I am going to I can register for 6 months and then all things new should be happening after that!

Bargains – Fan Heater £13 & £10 off £60 spend on groceries at Sainsburys & £10 off £75 at Tesco Direct

No rain today even though it was forecast but we seem to do well in this little part of Thanet.

We went to Westwood in the morning to get some shopping and yesterday a massive PriMark opened up there.

Back to the caravan and then we had to return the hire car (the fashion accessory as Torin calls it) to Manston airport Avis. We arrived and not surprisingly the airport was “dead”! The guy at Avis didn’t want to see paperwork or check anything, he said he was only the driver! So, we handed over the keys and walked back to the caravan which was a nice walk in the sun and only took us about 20 minutes. They seem to do so little at Manston Airport but they are talking about KLM flights coming soon.

Today’s update on Kulaksiz 5.

It was raining! We decided to go to Dover. On the way the main road was “closed” but no information how else to get there, so a left turn, a drive through a lot of very pretty villages and thankfully we guessed correctly and eventually ended up in Dover. It would have been helpful to have had diversion signs. We went to De Bradelei Wharf and bought some things and then on to Dover Castle which is another English Heritage site. We have now more than covered the cost of our 15 month ticket. Of course we have been to the Castle before but  now there is a new “Operation Dynamo”, where more of the underground tunnels have been opened up and a very good display about the Second World War. But walking back up from the tunnels to the car, the heavens opened and we got soaked!

There are usually excellent views from the castle but unfortunately yesterday it was all a bit grey.

Thought for the Day –

The sea is calm tonight,
The tide is full, the moon lies fair
Upon the straits:- on the French coast, the light
Gleams, and is gone: the cliffs of England stand,
Glimmering and vast, out in the tranquil bay.’
