As I am sure you are all aware this coming weekend is Jubilee weekend. The Diamond Jubilee for the Queen. I know the Coronation was 2nd June 1953 but she actually ascended the throne on 6th February 1952 when her father King George VI died. This followed the tradition that a festival such as a coronation was inappropriate during the period of mourning that followed the death of the preceding sovereign. So, now you know if you didn’t already!
Mal’s brother Steve came round in the morning, so we sat out in the garden. He also saved me a trip to St Nicholas to pay Rhys’s deposit for the camp site for the weekend, so I didn’t have to bus it over there.
I walked to the shops in the afternoon but think I over did the amount of shopping I carried back (bus is only Tuesday and Thursday!) It’s not as though I could even get a shopper on wheels as you have to cross fields on the way back. So, my getting fitter hasn’t quite worked as I now have back ache!
Scarlet and Jack came on the webcam in the evening. They are getting quite confused why they can’t see things they usually see in Cyprus!
