David and Kenny have friends Fatma and her daughter Latife who have created a restaurant in their home and garden in Girne called Ikimiz. They are constantly telling us what an excellent cook Fatma is and so they said they would take us for lunch there. We really did feel at home as soon as we walked through the entrance. In fact Mal and I kept saying that it really reminded us of places we used to eat at here about 12 years ago, prior to all the fast food places springing up all over the North.
Fatma does a dish of the day as well as the menu, which was what we had. Food to die for! The ambience was excellent too. Good Turkish Cypriot home cooking.

We had our lunch and then Fatma brought us fresh figs and pomegranate while we watched her firing up the clay oven and preparing for that evenings kleftico night.
It was busy for a Friday lunchtime. We also looked at the dining area for winter which really looked so cosy.
It’s a place we will be going to again and again I feel as they made us so welcome.
