Monday 29th August 2011

We had a lazy day by the pool. Torin was a little sunburnt from the previous days lying on the lilo for a long time.

Today is the last day of Ramadan, so government offices and most banks will be closed for the rest of the week for Seker Bayram. If you need any money from cash machines I advise getting to them quickly as last year some of them ran out of money before the end of the holiday. At least it will be very quiet for the rest of the week as the workers won’t be digging and building.

I contacted info@fishingnorthcyprus.com as Torin would really like to go sea fishing while he is here, having been tuna fishing on a previous visit. They were very quick to reply. Unfortunately, they won’t be fishing for another two weeks as the sea is too warm and the tuna are too deep. I appreciated them telling us and not taking a boat out just to get some money and then catch nothing. Thank you.

We had a BBQ in the evening and a few beers and also called the boys in Cardiff who are still enjoying their school holiday. They are  shortly off to Cornwall. Have a good holiday all of you.

Thought for the Day – “Look, I don’t want to wax philosophic, but I will say that if you’re alive you’ve got to flap your arms and legs, you’ve got to jump around a lot, for life is the very opposite of death, and therefore you must at very least think noisy and colorfully, or you’re not alive.” ~ Mel Brooks
