Torin is not going to have any luck with sea fishing this visit but the other thing he would love to do is see the turtles being released. I am keeping an eye out on the Turtle Project at Alagadi (www.cyprusturtles.org) and also watching the forum to see if there are any at Guzelyali beach. I know it is towards the end of the nests hatching so we decided to go to Guzelyali and see if there were still nests there. We drove there on almost empty roads and had a walk along the beach. Yes, we saw at least three nests so are keeping our fingers crossed there is some action before he leaves.
There were very few shops open as we expected but did top up on food at Ileli on the way home.
The weather forecast suggested a chance of rain and the clouds did come over in the afternoon but nothing. I understand other areas, including the South had quite a downpour.
In the evening we decided that we would give Haci Ali a ‘last chance’ as the lunchtime service was dreadful on the last visit so we thought we would see if the evening is better. It was!
The food was excellent and so was the service. Mal and Torin had the mixed grill and I had sea bass which was delicious. We then had desert, coffee and brandy ‘on the house’. I am glad we gave them a last try, well worth a visit and of course even better as we had our 20% discount card.
