We have one of our pigeons in the garden, sitting on the tiles and he is looking a bit poorly, so we can’t let Ellie out there while he is on the ground.  Very strange he has not left the garden at all. He was sheltering from the pouring rain. Obviously our walk with Ellie was very wet.

Kent Lavender Ladies met up at the Dog and Duck, Pluck’s Gutter for our Red Hatter lunch.

We have so many laughs when we get together and also had a very nice lunch.

I did try and get some future events  booked but we always talk too much! However some interest in JustGo mystery tour…should be fun. You leave in the morning, visit somewhere on your way to who knows where for the hotel, dinner and breakfast the following morning and another visit somewhere on the way home! Should be fun and 4 of us are going. I booked it as soon as I was back home.

A volunteer day at Cancer Research. We were surprisingly busy and even sold the most Superdraw Lottery tickets for the South East!

We had an email from Guide Dogs to tell us that Crumble , the guide dog we sponsored for Scarlet and Jack is now ill and they have withdrawn him from training! They receive all the updates but as they are still “juniors”, they felt it better we tell them!! That’s going to be awkward. Crumble is being replaced by a black lab.

I may have mentioned this here before but when in the Isle of Wight we sponsored Elvis, the donkey for Mal’s sister’s Christmas present. She loved Elvis and loves animals. Yes, you guessed it , out of 99 donkeys at the sanctuary, Elvis has died!  What on earth is happening?!

Sunday 17th November 2024

A nice walk through Wingham orchards and then to the farm shop for some of their delicious Jazz apples (all local) and Mal bought some broad beans for the allotment.

We went to Whitstable lunchtime to meet Tris and Natalie for Sunday lunch. We went to the Quayside Bar and Kitchen. In my opinion overpriced, one slice of beef roast for £19.95! The dessert menu wasn’t at all interesting, so we didn’t bother!

We had Ellie with us and Natalie brought her dog as well (Ellie was well behaved, lying on the floor!)

Friday 8th November 2024

In the evening we went to see Fairport Convention. They were playing in St Mary’s Church in Sandwich, so we could just walk there.  Their drummer , Gerry Conway died earlier this year and we found it strange that they didn’t mention him whereas they talk about Swarb frequently. So, at the moment they don’t have a drummer which gave the old men a good excuse to spend the night seated! They were still very good. and the decoration in the church looked good. The first photo is them hiding behind their instruments so they didn’t have to leave the stage for their encore!!
