How the weather had changed. We took Ellie for a run over the fields, well she didn’t run much today.  The wind was so cold.

After last weeks problems today we went back to Kent and Canterbury Hospital for Mal’s Ultra sound. All good.

My journey to work was hampered by what I thought was an accident as I was going past Pfizer and so turned the car around and chose a different route past the Shell garage. The roads were jamming up but as I passed the Shell garage I saw TWELVE Police cars and someone lying in the road. I guessed it was a major incident. I managed to get on the bypass before it blocked.

Later I discovered what this “major incident” that required twelve Police cars was.  Pro Palestinian Protestors! I am told they didn’t even glue themselves to the road. The picture was early on before more Police  arrived AND fire engines!!! Also before I drove past.

You never see a Police car in Sandwich so where did all these come from? Instro Precision are on the Business Park , it produces military  technology  “Claimed” to be bound for Israeli forces.

My day at the Cancer Research shop and we were quite busy. Pam came at lunchtime to bring some donations and also so that we could have lunch together. There was also a new lady Linda who had contacted me about joining our Hatters group and she just popped in to meet me.

Sunday 14th April 2024

Into Kearsney quite early, a lovely walk, swim for Ellie and then a coffee outside the cafe.

There was a coot with 2 chicks in the nest.

We left when it started getting busy, the last day of the school holidays and bought some more peat pots on the way back home.

Mal went to the allotment for a while. I made some garlic soup with some of the garlic  leaves we picked. There are masses of them up there.

Hammers game in the afternoon, not good!

Saturday 13th April 2024

The gaps in the blog will be filled in at a later date. I have written it all elsewhere for the time being.

I went into Deal, very early as there are two sets of traffic lights (house building) which back up the entire main road in and out of Deal. At least then there is not so much traffic going early.

I bought Mal some storage boxes as he is very jealous of my “greenhouse” invention!! They are just the clear boxes with a clear lid. He was going to buy some from Amazon at twice the price I bought them from in Deal.

He is a useless shopper! The boxes really are good to start plants off, these are my courgettes and tomatoes.

I went round Deal market. It really is a nice market.  The back up of traffic trying to get into Deal when I left was crazy.

We watched Spurs, the first game. Oh dear they lost 4 -0! Another loss for Luton Town. We also watched the Grand National and my horse came third and I backed it to win! results wise, not a good day.

Friday 12th April 2024

We walked through Wingham woods, where the bluebells are starting to pop their heads through. The apple trees are starting to blossom as well. It was such a nice day we sat in one of the fields and played ball with Ellie.

Mal started feeling a lot better than he had been.

In the afternoon I went to have my hair cut at Heaturners in Sandwich, a stylist someone had recommended to me, Adele. She was very good and was cheaper than The Hive in Deal where I had been going for a long while. That was a surprise! I guessed it would have been more expensive.
