Our second meal with asparagus. I bought this form Monty’s the greengrocers opposite the shop but I was surprised it was from Norfolk and not from Sevenscore. We are waiting for all allotment asparagus. We both love it.

Sunday 21st April 2024

I woke up with ear ache to add to my woes and our morning walk didn’t help in the wind. It was a bitter wind but then we had chosen to go to King George VI park which is right next to the sea.

The park is full of Rose ringed parakeets and they make such a noise.

We watched Hammers in the afternoon, an awful game. I changed to watching the FA semi final and that was an excellent game.  I have to say I felt very sorry for Coventry City.

Saturday 20th April 2024

I had an awful night, aching all over and runny nose and eyes and so thirsty. Nothing else for it but a good walk! Ellie was full of bounce, bless her, it was windy which always makes her lively!  I think her salmon oil is doing her good. I love it now the bluebells are out, Spring is here!

We went to Wingham woods and then through the orchards. The apricots have started growing and plenty of blossom on the apple trees.

From the orchards we went to Elgar’s Field to play ball with Ellie.

She loves a roll on the freshly cut grass!

Luton playing in the afternoon, how sad, they lost 5-1, oh dear.

Darwin Escapes keep sending me really good offers to my email. As always I was “just looking” and don’t quite understand how they are reducing so many lodge prices. We have taken a chance and booked a week where we went before in the Isle of Wight. The ferry price is crazy but we did love it there before. We could both fly to Spain and back cheaper than taking the car over on the ferry to the IOW! Let’s hope it doesn’t clash with Mal and the hospital/op but we are seriously trying to get on with our lives.

Friday 19th April 2024

Mal has been spending a lot of time with Dreams HO, telling them they have sold us a faulty mattress and battling with them to change it. He has now succeeded after completing a couple of damning reviews and threatening to take them to court! It really is worth persisting and we go in next week to choose a new mattress and delivery and collection will be free! Don’t believe everything these big companies tell you or write about!  Having spoken to a family company that sell beds yesterday in Ramsgate, they said the first thing they do is send someone out to view!! I guess we shouldn’t have bought from a large company.

We went to Kearsney, Ellie had her little bit of hydra therapy and we also saw a cormorant  along with the sea gulls.

We did have a few showers while we were there.

On the way home we called in B and Q, interesting to see their kitchen prices compared to Howdens where our builder sent us!  We are not going ahead with Andy!

I started getting a cold or something, ached all over and a sore throat.

Thursday 18th April 2024

Having ordered some clothes from M&S, I left home at 7.30 am to collect from Westwood. The previous day it took me over an hour  for a 25 minute drive……all the house building and traffic lights , it is now becoming horrendous just sitting in traffic jams. I came home via Ramsgate!

I booked tickets for a show for the Kent Lavender Ladies and I couldn’t believe it, within half an hour of me telling them I had booked the tickets, they had all sent their money! It was never like this in the other group. The new ladies are all so appreciative and it is a very nice feeling!

We watched this a while ago! That is not a SANDWICH it’s a burger. Wheelers is where our grandson Ollie works.

Wednesday 17th April 2024

It was our Kent Lavender Ladies lunch out. We have another new interesting lady joined us, Linda. She is into art and has even had one of her paintings in the Turner Centre. We went to The Swan at Westgate on Sea. It was a really nice lunch and I have to say much nicer than the old group who never wanted to do anything!

Pam and I made the correct decision to start a new group. These are very enthusiastic ladies when I suggest trips out and I always get a thank you from them all!

Our new ladies want tickets for Joseph and the Technicolour Dream Coat, so more to book.
