One of the outings we booked with Red Hatters was “Cruising Into Christmas” with a local coach company. A few people couldn’t make the date and there should have been 6 of us and then sadly 2 had to cancel at the last minute owing to ill health. So, we didn’t go as Red Hatters as there was only 4 of us. But the four of us that did go had a really good time and will definitely go again next year!
We had lunch in a pub in Greenwich (Pam and I had a gin!), a walk around the market.
We then went in another pub while we were waiting for the boat to go up the Thames (Pam and I had another gin!!).
Then on to the boat. Pam and I sat upstairs, yes it was (very) cold but a far better view and lovely lights.
The coach met us at the end and then took us all round the lights with a guide telling us info, like Claridges Xmas lunch is £395 per person!
Then we stopped in Covent garden, a quick walk round and see the lights there.
Then a stop in another pub (for a wee, a “splash and dash” as our coach driver preferred to call it) but Pam and I felt obliged to have another gin.
Back on the coach and the drive home. What a lovely day with good company.
