Poor Ellie wasn’t well in the night. I came down twice to let her into the garden and she just lay there, so I called her back in. In the early hours she was barking at my side of the bed and also scratching my arm! Again I went downstairs with her and she stood by the front door. Mal had to take her across the road to the field. If it is messy she never wants to do anything in the garden, she is a very clean dog. Armed with a torch and poo bags Mal took her and sure enough she had a very bad stomach. After all that at 2.30am we all managed to get a bit of sleep!
We took her to the allotment in the morning. It was surprisingly warm. As you can see in one of the photos, a whole new housing estate being built right next to Mal’s allotment. They have even tried pinching some of the allotment’s grounds….they didn’t get away with it. We have loads of courgettes and squashes, of course masses of runner beans and the black kale which I love is doing well.
Later I went to Birchington to the butchers to buy two more turkey breast rolls to go into the freezer, they are so good! They still have quite a few left.
Thankfully Ellie’s tummy had settled by the end of the day.
