A sad day as it was Torin’s 4 year anniversary and it does not get any easier but I had some really lovely messages. A morning walk first, always good to get your head straight.

We had quite a lot to drink and a long delicious Sunday lunch. Very relaxing. The maitre d’ was right , the lunch was so good. I had so many King Prawns for starters and they were huge. Mal was in his element as he loves a cheese board for dessert. There was a whole table of cheese and they kept giving him more!

We followed this with watching Hammers and then Spurs. A couple who were watching with us, were talking about London shows and recommended “Tina – the Tina Turner Musical”. He then asked for help completing his forms for returning to the UK. Mal helped him, he couldn’t even put his telephone number in it correctly! Poor fella and they were leaving 4 am the following morning.

We thought about Torin all day.

 

 

A nice lazy day having a walk all around St Paul’s Bay to see what there was around. After lunch we went swimming.

We ate in Delos again in the evening, they do a very nice French coffee at the end of the meal. It is also a nice setting.

The maitre d’ told us to eat in the other restaurant on Sunday as they were famous for doing their roast and some of the locals come in for their Sunday lunch ( 33 euros for those not on all inclusive!)

We were up early, dropping Ellie and the car at Lou and Rhys’s and Lou took us to the airport. We were there earlier than usual as we weren’t too sure how long paper work (re vaccination documentation) would take, not as long as we thought!

It’s around a 3 hour flight to Malta so not too long and not too far to the hotel. A nice hotel right next to the sea – The Dolmen.

It had a large restaurant and then a slightly posher Delos cafe, which you have to book for. We did that on arrival. We had a good look around all the grounds and the 4 pools and there were also steps down to the sea amongst the rocks. We were all inclusive and so they stored our luggage and told us to go and have lunch, didn’t mind if we did, along with a cocktail. We ate in the Delos in the evening. Mal said it was the best steak he had for a very long time and I had a nice shellfish salad.

In the evening they had a duo singing in the Agora bar.

We took Ellie to George VI park, another lovely morning.

When we arrived home, Bob from next door was just unpacking their car. They had been on holiday. Sadly he said it was not good and all the hotel said it was because there now is a lack of staff!! That’s a shame for Louise and Bob.

I then went round to the cemetery to take some flowers and I wiped the stone as grass cuttings had stuck to it. I hadn’t realised until I wiped the side, there was a kitten hiding behind it! He thought it was a real game, chasing my hand.

In the evening we packed ready for a holiday in St Paul’s Bay, Malta. This was a holiday that had been moved several times owing to Covid and to be honest, we couldn’t quite believe it was actually happening!

I had my dental appointment for two extractions at my dentist, as instructed by Maxillofacial. I had the first appointment at 8.30 which was good as I was first in, no waiting about. Avraj was very good and even used the stuff to numb my gums before he injected . Now I won’t be thinking about any dentals again until I have all the maxillofacial appointments in November. Pain killers for the rest of the day.

Milly and Sol came round in the afternoon. They have moved “up North”, near Clitheroe and they are loving their new jobs. They are back down for a couple of days and so really nice that they spent time with us. Sol has one of Grandad’s marrows to take over to Lou!

We walked Ellie across the fields, to ensure she didn’t get any treats as her tummy was a little unsettled and she hadn’t eaten her breakfast.

I met the Hatters for lunch. This time we went to the Dog and Duck at Plucks Gutter and had a nice meal.

And one of Queenie and I that a hatter just sent me.

Mal walked Ellie and I went off for my day in Pilgrim’s Hospice shop to volunteer. It was just Claire and I and we had so many donations, so we kept very busy.

It is interesting the entrance to the shop, obviously Freeman Hardy & Willis in a time gone by.
