I went to the shops but didn’t hang around for long, a few basics and back home.

In the afternoon Mal and Tariq went to the allotment.

For dinner we decided to go to Ossie’s and bring some fish and chips home. They were so good. Tariq likes a bit of curry sauce with his!! The memory tree in town looks nice at night.

We then settled down for another couple of “24” episodes.

We walked Ellie quite early and went to put a message for Torin on the memory tree in town. The tree looks much better when the lights are on and more messages on it but has only just been placed there.  It is a lovely idea. On the way back we saw Chris who is one of Ellie’s regular treat suppliers! In fact every time she sees a mobility scooter she thinks it is Chris and just sits down thinking she is going to be fed.

We took Ellie earlier than usual as we booked to go to the zoo. Luckily I looked at Facebook before leaving for the zoo and they announced that they had to shut as there was a burst water main that supplies them. We will have to go another day.

In the evening we all watched another couple of episodes of “24”.

A rather misty, chilly morning but we took Ellie to Minnis Bay. She is not bothered by cold weather. One of the London schools had brought some of their kids down to the beach for the day! They seemed to be having fun.

We had three attempts at 2 different post offices to post parcels. Mal gave up three times. It’s no pleasure standing outside in a queue so another day! We called in at the butchers to get some meat.

In the afternoon Mal went to the allotment and I walked to Sandwich post office. I stood in the queue for 30 minutes but at least 4 of my parcels have gone, which includes Scarlet’s and Jacks. They told me it has been as busy as today since Friday…non stop!

I went to post some parcels. I went to the main post office at Westwood. The queue was horrendous so after 15 minutes I gave up. Every shop I intended going to had queues. I went home with just a small amount of shopping and the parcels will have to be posted another day.

I took some flowers round to the cemetery and by that time the fog was coming down and it was really cold. Tariq went out for a long run.

We watched a couple more ’24’ episodes.

Today we should have been flying to Malta!!! This is now our third holiday cancelled. Maybe one day we will get to go away.

We took Ellie out for a walk and discovered there was a Christmas market on in the church in Sandwich. I really am confused as to what we are allowed to do.

Tariq went running then we had a Sunday roast followed by the Spurs v Arsenal game. Yes Spurs won and we are back to top of the table! Following that another couple of episodes of ’24’.

We took Ellie for a run over at Reculver country park.

From there we popped round to see Lou, Rhys and the kids. We didn’t stay long as they were getting cold standing on the doorstep! It’s not quite the same as it was in summer but nice to see them.

Late afternoon I went to have my hair done. My hairdresser is being very careful and I had a later appointment and so there were only 4 of us in a huge salon, masks, sanitisation etc etc.

We watched the Hammers, Man U game. Again very noisy as Tariq instructed every player in the Man U team as to what they should be doing!

Rhys was running early in the morning in the snow! We had a lot of rain overnight, part of the cricket pitch was flooded when we went for our walk.

I saw Chloe, our next door neighbour and she told me that since we have put lights up in our conservatory, Flo, her three year old believes it is Santa’s grotto! Bless her.  She said now she eats her tea every night just in case Santa should look over the fence!

In the evening we started watching ’24’ right from the beginning. We have seen it years ago but Tariq hasn’t. I remember one night in Cyprus we stayed up all night to “watch just one more episode”!
