Owing to current circumstances, Sol won’t be spending Christmas with us so we drove over to Whitstable to deliver his presents. We told him we weren’t going in so the four of us went for a long walk along the sea front. It seems ages since we have seen him, so it was really nice. Ellie enjoyed the walk too!

Another nice sunny day.

One of our neighbours had a couple of spare palettes and Mal said he would like them for the allotment fence, so in the afternoon Tariq went and collected them and then rebuilt the front fence.

I popped to the shops while Mal walked Ellie.

Today I have sponsored a Guide Dog for the Blind. His name is Sprout. My parents always raised money in their pub for Guide Dogs so I am sort of carrying on the tradition.

I spoke to my sister in the afternoon. She is so bored with being on her own. Both of my nieces and families are in the NHS, so she tries to keep away from them or meet them outside!

In the evening we watched the Spurs v Liverpool game. Oh no, right at the end Liverpool won. We have lost our number one spot!

I forgot to mention last week, Lou is a raffle winner again! This time another TV and a PS5!!

Tariq, bless him re-felted our garden shed in the morning. It’s an old shed, we just want it to last through the winter.

Mal and I went into Canterbury for me to go to the dentist and we had forgotten Littlebourne was still closed because of the burst water main and so we had to take a very long detour across country. I arrived with a minute to spare. I then sat 15 minutes in the waiting room.

So, we had the same discussion yet again, that she is waiting to hear from the hospital, maxillo facial and they tell me they are waiting for her. So, she decided to score the pockets in my gums and send them the new readings “then they would have no excuse”! Ouch that hurt especially the bit when she said “I think you have a slight infection there.” She also cemented a bridge which was coming loose at the back of my mouth but that has been in there for over 20 years.  So, she is waiting for the hospital so she can “make a plan” how to proceed. Well, seeing as this has been going on for 2 years now and she is retiring at the end of this year, I don’t hold out much hope for the near future.

When I arrived home I emailed her my previous hospital appointment letter so she would know exactly where I went as she seemed a bit vague, maybe because I refused to go back to Ashford Hospital. If I haven’t heard anything in a month, get in touch with the surgery!

We walked Ellie and the sun was out.  Mal and Tariq went to the allotment in the afternoon.

Mal and I took Ellie to Kearsney Abbey for a wet walk in the woods.  Of course Ellie had to go and jump in the stream but she was wet anyway! Some kids seemed to be enjoying sailing their yachts on the lake in the rain.

We watched the Spurs game… we are still top!

I slow cooked a leg of lamb and Tariq returned just in time when I was dishing up.

He had been running in very slippy, muddy rough terrain near camp and fell on to barbed wire and had to have stitches in his ear!

We should still be in Malta, maybe one day we will get away. Tariq made such a good job of my car I decided to go and buy some new car mats! I went very early and then on to the butchers for chicken breast to put in the freezer. Things weren’t too busy early and most shops seem to open at 7 am now.

Tariq went back to Taunton to collect his bike.

Rhys is suffering again with his teeth. He already has an appointment for Monday but he is in pain now and taking a lot of pain killers. The emergency said if pain killers work for over an hour then he is OK!!!!

Mal and I took Ellie out in the pouring rain. By the time we were back home and very wet, the sun had come out…bad timing. However, we know how good Tariq is at cleaning cars so he very kindly helped Mal……

I actually think Mal spent most of the time chatting to neighbours! Tariq, when he was much younger, had a very profitable car washing round ! Everyone loved how thorough he was.
