Mal did more picking at the allotment, I think the last of the strawberries but we have had loads.

Later we went to Salutation Gardens. We have an annual pass there and really don’t use it enough.

Back home to watch Rafa in the tennis followed by the Lionesses. Sad to say they were outclassed by the USA but a valiant effort.

The sea gulls were awake early, so were Ellie and I, so we went for a lovely riverside walk leaving home at 5.30. A beautiful morning.

A day at Demelza and we took more than I thought as it seemed very slow in the morning.

Mal has written to the council again as dogs are allowed on leads at Gazen Salts nature reserve and someone has erected a new sign saying that dogs are not allowed. Last time Mal informed the council, they were forced to take the sign down. Sneaky!!

Josie, Ollie and Oscar came for the day as Lou and Rhys were both working.

We started with walking Ellie and of course buying ice creams on the way home from the park.

From here Mal took them to the allotment. They love it down there and he gets them working!

We had lunch when they came back. They make us laugh Ollie loves his warm camembert cheese and Oscar likes making the most weird rolls with such an odd mixture of ingredients!

We had ordered a new lawnmower from Argos and they told us it would be there Wednesday and then this morning told us it was already in store at Deal. So, we drove to Deal to collect it and stopped for a drink in the Coach and Horses on the way back home. They have a lovely garden there.

I had left the meat cooking while we were out so early evening had a roast and I plated up two for Lou and Rhys to take home. Early evening we went to the field across the road and played with Ellie and picked cherries!

We had a lovely day.

I had shopping to get and so went to Westwood very early to avoid the heat and the crowds heading for the sea.

A day in the garden as it was so nice and quite cool out there considering it was supposed to be in the high 20’s.

A day out with the Red Hatters, well, only five of us. We went to Brick Lane Music Hall. Of course, it is in the East End, where I come from and the whole day was quite nostalgic.

It was very comical and both Jackie and I ended up crying with laughter. That certainly did us both good, I know it did me! You had to take it for what it was and enjoy it. We did! Four out of five of us said we would definitely go back.

It was a new coach company we used and their coach was very luxurious.

A drive down to Minnis Bay where it was really windy and the sea was quite rough. The weather was just how Ellie likes it. They have put new dog signs up for the tourists.

We stopped in Margate on the way back. It hasn’t changed, well it has, parts of it have become far worse! Parts of it are lovely, parts of it are not!

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon, strawberries, peas, broad beans and the first of the beetroot which I cook as a vegetable. They were really tasty.

We watched the Lionesses beat Norway in the evening. A good game.

The predicted weather….for heat, didn’t happen. In fact it was dull and a little chilly!

Our new fridge arrived at the time specified, well done AO.com!

I went shopping and bought Oscar’s birthday presents and also spent a little of my birthday money. I still have quite a lot but don’t see much I want to buy!

I did buy a new toilet seat too! The problem started when Mal started to fit it and one of the fittings was missing. He contacted the company and was on the phone for 50 minutes! No we were not going back to Westwood when it was their problem not ours. After 50 minutes they agreed to put the missing part in the post!
