The forecast was for more heat and so Ellie and I went out at 5.30! We are very lucky to live in such a lovely town as Sandwich and it really is very pretty that time of the morning. There are also a surprising number of people around, mainly dog walkers and runners.

I then went off to Westwood as a top I had ordered in Debenhams had arrived. When I brought it home, it was miles too big and just not very nice! I think I am going to give up buying online! That will have to go back another day. I did however find a really nice top in Next sale. I also bought some more sticks for the garden/allotment. My sunflowers need a bit of support now!

At night there was a partial eclipse of the moon.

Demelza day and Jack returned from his holiday and was very happy as he proposed to Nicole. Of course she accepted. How exciting. We had a good days takings too.

We walked Ellie and then prepared everything for Oscar’s post birthday BBQ.  We said his choice what he would like for a meal and he wanted a BBQ, so that is what we had and a cake to finish!

I then watched the men’s final from Wimbledon. There should have been TWO winners. What a match!

A good day for sport as England won the cricket world cup!

Walking Ellie, then I transplanted some tomatoes and Mal went to the allotment. Of course tennis in the afternoon.

Rather a poor game from Serena. Short too and so I got out my sewing machine, jobs I had been putting off for a while.

I have been growing sunflowers, having a competition with the grandkids. They have taken theirs home. My sunflowers in pots are doing well but the ones I planted in the garden are being stripped!! Something is finding them very tasty.

We took Ellie out but not too far as it was very humid. The ducklings are still around.

We had our lunch out and I managed to persuade Mal to help with a bit of shopping. He doesn’t like shopping! I ordered some shorts at Debenhams for Rhys and at last they were ready to be collected, three days later than they originally said. I really am not sure what is happening with Debenhams. I had seen a Principles top online for half price but it was full price in store. I ordered it when I was back home. I am just hoping it is an improvement on the last top that I ordered online which was damaged and so was the replacement. I think the staff have a very uncertain future and it is showing in their customer service!

Later I watched the Rafa v Federer match. Not my choice of winner.

We took Ellie to Minnis Bay and she didn’t want to come out of the sea as she was getting cool. It really is dog heaven there. So many dogs and owners having fun.

Mal went to the allotment in the afternoon to weed and water and bring home the vegetables! I watched some tennis and then we ate outside in the evening and played cards.

Oscar’s 11th Birthday!

Mal’s brother Steve was in the area this week and so he came to visit us for the day. Shirley dropped him off and I was going to a Hatters lunch. We seem to be getting more and more Hatters each meeting. Today was lunch at Lesters.

I went home and Shirley arrived to collect Steve and they were dashing off to visit more friends.

Mal and I went to KFC where we met up with Lou and Rhys for some food before they were all going to the cinema for his birthday.
