We took Ellie for a slightly longer walk and she struggled a bit on the way back.  We have to manage this slowly, I really don’t want to take her back to the vets again. We also put new flowers on Torin’s grave.  The cemetery is kept so well, it always looks so pretty. Ellie is still “resting” and so Mal went into Canterbury to meet Violet and Tris and I stayed at home with her.

Ellie and I sat in the garden all afternoon.

I glanced at Facebook, the Sandwich page and it seems a 6 year old has been lost in the river. Many are out looking including the coastguard and Police. Helicopters are flying around and search and rescue and the RNLI are out too along with many locals searching. How awful. We did consider it but they had enough volunteers. The fire service are organising the searching. Well done to our local Co op for giving sandwiches and hot drinks to the searching people/ police etc. This was followed by both fish and chip shops offering food and drink.

We watched the Spurs game, a draw against Man City! Yeah!

We took the dogs walking and then I went shopping. I bought a new pair of jeans, that just goes to show what the weather is like, I am thinking of winter already!

Lou and Rhys arrived back from their holiday in Spain. They are not impressed with the weather. I did warn them! So, goodbye to Roddie as Lou came to collect him and take him home. He has been no trouble at all bless him.  I just took his basket up stairs each night and he curled up and went to sleep.

A bit of a miserable day weather wise.

I met the Red Hatters for lunch. Queenie was on holiday, so I took over as vice. Queenie had written emails saying everyone should be wearing Red Hats…..well of course! Today all did except a new lady, give her a chance to get one. One lady has resigned because of it! Why join Red Hatters if you don’t want to wear a Red Hat? The whole worldwide organisation is based on Jenny Joseph’s poem……………….

My third visit to the grief counsellor. She is extremely good.

From there I went to Westwood to get some shopping.

We seem to be attracting butterflies into the garden as well as the bees.

Early evening we took Ellie back to the vets to have her wound checked. She has done so well and not even touched it and that was without a babygro or collar of shame. The vet was very pleased BUT she has to rest for another week. That won’t please her, she is desperate to go running but as she warned us, we don’t let her rest then fluid will collect and we will be taking her back in to get it drained. No, we don’t want that as I had to drag her in last night and she stood shaking! She does not like it there!

The bees seem to be enjoying my passion flowers in the garden.

My day at Demelza. It poured with rain on the way back from lunch and I got       soaked as I left my mac in the shop! We had quite a lot of donations but once the rain started we had fewer customers.

Tariq gets up as early as we do and so it was breakfast, dog walking, well, just the field and back for Ellie. She looked quite sad because she couldn’t join Roddie on the long walk. When the boys came back, they started sorting the wood around the windows. It all needs painting but I really didn’t want Mal up a ladder. Tariq is much better at it!! Mal can do ground level.

I cooked a roast with all the trimmings which Tariq loved. He does love his food(and hates me taking photos of him!!)

We watched the Man U game late afternoon. Tariq is sooo loud, shouting at the players etc etc . I’m so glad they won!

He finished the painting after the football and then went home as his girlfriend was flying back from her holiday. What a tidy Marine, he stripped all his bed and all the dirty linen, towels etc were all neatly folded in a pile.
