A hot night and in the early hours we had 5 minutes of rain and lightning. Ellie really does not like the heat and as she sleeps in the bedroom, she did a lot of panting so I didn’t get much sleep!

We went out for our walk at 5am and even then she wasn’t that keen so we didn’t go as far as usual.

The baby seagulls we see every morning were screeching out to their mum for food. They are not so tiny any more.

Ellie couldn’t even be bothered to chase the squirrels as she usually does!

Mal went to the allotment to water and then we had  fun in the garden with Ellie! We used to do this in Cyprus for her.

Another hot day so an early morning walk for Ellie. OMG, it has just been announced the clown is in charge of our country!

Mal went to the allotment as everything needs watering.

The rest of the time we were in the garden and catching snails and slugs again as soon as darkness fell!

Torin’s birthday. A difficult day because he never enjoyed it, never knowing how he would feel and you are “supposed” to celebrate that day. Sometimes his depression was too bad. We will do that today, celebrate his life.

Ellie and I went out at 5.30.

We met a lady with an English Setter, the dog is totally mental! If it saw another dog, it just sits down, be it in the middle of the road or anywhere. I told her about the experiences we had with the Setter we had, another one totally mental! I swore I would never have a Setter again.

Lou, Rhys, Oscar and Josie came round and brought flowers for Torin’s grave. We took them round there along with a stone carp Mal and I had bought him. He was a champion carp fisherman, often appearing in the Carp News.

We then walked to The Crispin and had our lunch and a toast to Torin. It’s a “Daniel” thing historically that we always toast those who have left us with Guiness first! We all had Caribbean food.

Mal and I sat out in the garden in the evening and as it began to get dark and the solar lights came on, we started to see the snails and slugs appearing!! So now I know who is munching away my sunflowers! We collected 9 snails and 7 slugs and deposited them across the road!

I wonder how many other people have noticed these price hikes in Tesco?

I certainly have and I am not impressed.

We went into Deal for a walk along the seafront. We walked along the pier too but it was quite busy as they had a fishing competition on. It was nice to feel the sea breeze.

Ollie, Oscar and Josie came for the day. Of course that was down to the park with the two dogs first, followed by Unicones.

They then went to the allotment with Grandad, for planting and picking.

Back for food and they love inventing their own rolls, all sorts of ingredients together!!

In the afternoon games in the garden and then we went to the field opposite as it was cool under the trees and the dogs love playing ball over there.

We had pizzas when mum arrived and apple crumble that Ollie made!

Mal took Ellie out while I went to Debenhams to return the top I bought online. I think I am going to give up online shopping.

I made a fish pie, I haven’t made one for a long while and we both love fish!

Maybe people think this sounds rather like a boring life, I LIKE boring, I don’t want any more drama!

It wasn’t so hot and so we walked Ellie later. I saw an ornament in the cancer charity shop window that I wanted, so we took Ellie in and they gave her dog biscuits. We will have a job getting her past that shop another time! She won’t forget.

I was supposed to be attending River’s graduation at Canterbury Cathedral and then we discovered that Oscar had his “graduation” from primary school and was getting an award and somebody had to be there for him. So, change of plan. Mal went to Canterbury with Lou and I went to Oscar’s graduation in Herne Bay. Rhys sadly had to work.

So, I was at Oscars. They never did all this graduation and proms when I was at primary school……too many years ago!

Lou and Mal went to Canterbury Cathedral.

We then went to celebrate at the Prince of Wales at Hoath.
