Mal continues his campaign against the decision to ban dogs at the nature reserve. He has found out the decision was made at a very small meeting, led by a farmer. Other counties allow dogs on leads in nature reserves so he has now appealed and asked for evidence that dogs on leads are any more problem than, eg a group of kids leaving their litter everywhere , as we experienced last time we walked through there.

We took Ellie for a walk and chatted to some tourists who wanted to know their way around, to beaches, river etc. This often happens and they all say how lovely Sandwich is.

I had a hair appointment at lunchtime. It’s a lovely salon, now changed its name to the Hive but Katie still owns it and does my hair. Today we all had a special treat with our coffee as it is Wimbledon.

 

Sad to see that Lopez has been knocked out.

In the evening we called over to see Lou and Rhys.

Mal did more picking at the allotment, I think the last of the strawberries but we have had loads.

Later we went to Salutation Gardens. We have an annual pass there and really don’t use it enough.

Back home to watch Rafa in the tennis followed by the Lionesses. Sad to say they were outclassed by the USA but a valiant effort.

The sea gulls were awake early, so were Ellie and I, so we went for a lovely riverside walk leaving home at 5.30. A beautiful morning.

A day at Demelza and we took more than I thought as it seemed very slow in the morning.

Mal has written to the council again as dogs are allowed on leads at Gazen Salts nature reserve and someone has erected a new sign saying that dogs are not allowed. Last time Mal informed the council, they were forced to take the sign down. Sneaky!!
