I can’t wait until Ellie gets back to fitness and her walks. I am really missing them. She is only allowed across to the field, a very short way and we want to make sure the wound is healing properly. She stands at the far gate hoping she will be allowed to go further and then we have to coax her back home!

Today we walked her around the cemetery, a bit further. I then had to take her babygro off to wash it which meant of course we had to watch her all the time to ensure that she didn’t start scratching the stitches! The short walk tired her, so she slept for a while.

Mal went to the allotment. Ellie and I sat in the garden in the afternoon. We let her have her dressing off for a while as she slept in the sun in the garden.

Have you noticed items when you are shopping are getting smaller?  Muller Light Yoghurts in a 6 pack were 175grams each pot. The last ones I bought were 160grams. The manufacturers just don’t care and most shoppers don’t notice.

We took Ellie across the road to the field and all she wanted to do was roll in the cut grass, which in turn pulled off half her dressing. That’s the trouble when you undo the babygro but she can’t go to the toilet with it on! Back home and another new dressing. The trouble again is not being able to push the tape on to her skin because it is all swollen and bruised.

Last Monday I found Lou a dress in the  shop which may be suitable for her and Josie’s theatre trip for the “Sing a long a Greatest Showman.” I hadn’t seen her and as Ellie is still needing rest so we won’t be seeing them tomorrow, I took the dress over for her to try on. Yes, it fits so that is good. Also good that the “posh frocks” are on sale at the moment! I just have to keep my eyes open for one for Josie now.

Another night with Ellie downstairs bless her. We have had to put a new temporary dressing on her. It’s difficult because it is swollen and we can’t press the tape down in case it hurts her.

At last, we took her to the field across the road and she went to the loo. I had started to get worried but she wee-ed a lake!

I managed to find some new wound dressings at Boots. In the afternoon I went into Deal to the hairdressers. Katie’s salon was very quiet. I don’t think people are spending much money because they don’t know what on earth is going on any more! People are fed up even thinking about Brexit.

Ellie slept a lot again while I was out.

I watched  the Great Continental Railways Journey as it was in Istanbul. I love that city and we used to visit often. Later we watched the England game, a good result 5-0.

Thankfully Ellie managed the stairs to sleep by the side of the bed as she always does.

Ellie didn’t want to go out at all in the night but just slept in her bed but at least I knew she was OK.

She was obviously very hungry in the morning, ate all her food and had her Metacam (pain killers) tablets. At least she wagged her tail a couple of times in between sleeps.

I went to the pharmacy to buy some large plasters for Ellie as the one she has on, is hanging off. They didn’t have any.

We walked her in the field opposite as she hasn’t been to the toilet since returning from the vets…..nothing! She is restricted with walking so we came back home. She won’t go in the garden either.  I guess she will when she is ready. Meanwhile she sleeps!

I slept downstairs with her again in case she wanted to go out during the night. Again she didn’t but came and slept right next to me.

The vet told us to give Ellie an extra small amount of food late last night and now she has nothing except water as she went in for her op.

We didn’t eat either as she knows she always eats when we have finished. So, we dropped her off, saw Trish the vet who again explained things so we completely understood and Mal and I went to Westwood and decided to have breakfast out. I looked for a spring/summer jacket, couldn’t find one I really liked. We wanted to go to Tesco but that will  be another day as it isn’t re opening until tomorrow because the roof blew off in all the high winds last week!

We phoned the vet who said all had gone well and the lump is being sent away to histology. She said Ellie woke up hungry…what a surprise! She had already been given a small amount to eat.

Thankfully the vet had doggy baby gros, a great improvement on those awful collars of shame (Elizabethan collar).

But she was feeling very sorry for herself and obviously sleepy from the anaesthetic.

She slept for the rest of the evening and also managed to eat her dinner. We tried to see if she would go to the toilet in the garden, that involves opening the baby gro, but she wouldn’t.

I decided I would sleep downstairs with her, so Mal brought the spare bedroom mattress down. I just thought if she wanted to go in the garden during the night, it wouldn’t be easy, even if she had managed to climb the stairs at all.

A nice walk in the sun. Ellie loves all the dogs we meet along the way.

Mal and I then drove into Canterbury for a wander around and went to Chom Chom for lunch. They do the most delicious Thai curry and today it was HOT.  It did remind me of going there with Torin and the twins and the last time we were there, I filled Scarlet’s pocket with the jelly beans that they leave out with the desserts in big bowls and Torin said how naughty nanny was! They disagreed!

I did resist the desserts and just had fresh fruit salad.

A day at Demelza. Jack was on holiday and we had a really quiet day.  I bought a mac and also a fancy dress for Lou for a show she is going to in the summer. That boosted takings a bit!
