It wasn’t quite as cold when we woke up. How do I know? Because the windows weren’t frozen on the inside!! Yes, we do have the central heating on 24/7 but it is an old draughty house. It will be nice when we move as the next house has very high energy efficiency.
How mistaken was I when we went for our walk.
Freezing rain was falling and it was freezing on our coats, all over Ellie’s fur and by the time we arrived home my car which I had kept sweeping the snow off, was frozen solid! It looked like a gigantic ice cube. I heard from Rhys and he told us not to drive as cars were flying off the road in the black ice and there are so many accidents.
I was supposed to be going to see Motown Magic in the evening with the Hatters. It was on at the Winter Gardens Margate. Many phone calls, who could go who couldn’t. Well, I knew I wouldn’t be able to get there, let alone get home again. I contacted the theatre, no refunds and it had not been cancelled. We then found someone in Margate who would take one of the tickets, so ring the theatre again and they would reprint it. About 20 minutes after sorting all this out, they announced on Facebook that they had postponed it!! Grrr! At least I will be able to see it next week…..weather permitting!!
Tariq has had 8 weeks intensive training and was due home this weekend but no trains running from Devon, so he can’t come. I think he was really disappointed.
